Nail Art: Talavera Mexican Tiles

nothing to disclose

Hey friends! If you follow me on instagram, you may have seen a sneak peek of today's look on Monday...yep, that's when I painted this! Unfortunately, work and life and trying to stay in some shape other than blob caused me to not have much time during the week for editing of any sort. So here we are, 6 days later ;)

Art Deco Vibe - a Daniel Wellington, Classic Black Sheffield Inspired Look

press sample

Hello my friends! I hope that where ever you are, you are having a great day :)

Today I've got a nail art look inspired by one of my favorite watch companies, Daniel Wellington! I have worked with them a few times in the past and I wear their watches almost daily. I love how classy and pulled together I feel when I wear them. They have become my go-to "jewelry"...if a watch can be that.

The latest one I have to share is from their new collection, Classic Black. The defining feature of the collection is a black watch face paired with various DW band styles. I chose the Classic Black Sheffield as I loved the sleek pairing of black on black. The touch of rose gold in the hands and numbers warm the look up and I love it.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Christmas

nothing to disclose

Hi, everyone! I've got a few posts to share today so they'll be short and sweet but still full of drool worthy photos, I promise ;)

I'm slightly behind, but this week for the 40 Great Nail Art Idea challenge, we're all taking on the theme of Christmas! I know we're still a week out from the holiday, but it's still fun to have all the themed manis out before the big day!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Winter

nothing to disclose

Well, hello, hello! I have finally gotten my act together enough this week to get back to posting with the fabulous ladies that contribute to the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas each week! As we're getting close to the official first day of winter, we've gone with a theme of...you guessed it, winter!

I decided to go with something a bit non-traditional for my winter look, though because it's a fair isle print christmas sweater style look, I figured it still very much counts for winter!

SugarLOOM Cosmetics - Fair Isle Print Nail Art

press sample

Hello all! Is everyone getting excited for the holidays? I know not everyone celebrates, but I love the opportunity to be inspired by the decorations, the scenery, and just the season in general. With that in mind, I've got some festive nail art to share with you today and I'm in love with how it turned out!

If you'll recall, last week I reviewed the 4 polishes from the SugarLOOM Cosmetics Holiday gift set, A Sparkly Staycation. While I really liked the entire collection, I especially loved Fuzzy Sweater, a deep magenta textured polish. I also loved the name as it brought to mind Fair Isle fuzzy sweaters...so naturally I had to paint that over this!

I've really enjoyed doing Halloween nail art this month and today's mani is sort of a mix of a bunch of different Halloween things.

Themed Thursday - October 15th: Monsters

nothing to disclose

Hi all!

How sad is it that I'm a week behind on my own dang challenge!? I've got a quick post today to share my Themed Thursday Monsters mani! Last week was a bit of an emotional roller coaster for me I wasn't able to focus my energies on nail art. I also struggled a bit with what exactly to paint for today.

My initial thought was to paint the traditional Halloween monsters - vampires, mummies, zombies, and the like. But when I sat down to paint these, I couldn't find inspiration. I didn't know how to put my own spin on these and so I just sort of sat on it and mulled it over for far too long. After over a week of sitting with 100+ monster related tabs open on my computer, I finally decided to "eff it! I'll just do this!"...and painted little monsters inspired by this pattern.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: The Illustrated Edition - Nail Art and Giddy Squealing

sponsored

Hello, all! I have an insanely special post to share with you today! You are all already aware of my passion and love of nail art, but did you know I'm also a huge book lover?? Seriously, just holding a book makes my heart pitter patter to a happy little dance. I used to work at Border's Bookstore and so I've acquired many books over the years. But I have to say, I haven't been this excited for a book release since...well, since July 21, 2007.

What happened on that date? Well, the final installment of the Harry Potter series was released on that day. I grew up reading Harry Potter and I can't say that I love any story or fantasy world more than this one. It makes my soul happy to even think about the wizarding world or Harry Potter!

And now, that feeling of pure, unadulterated joy is back because Jim Kay has lent his prowess to the book that started it all in the Illustrated Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Be still my beating heart.

Cirque X International Playground - Swatches, Review, & Nail Art

Hello, all! Hope you're having a good week! Mine had a bit of a rough start but I've got some stunners from Cirque to share with you today and that helps make things better! Cirque and International Playground, a clothing/lifestyle boutinque local to NYC that carries a range of products from various independent designers/artisans (including the whole Cirque line!), have teamed up in honor of the store's 5 years being open and curated a set of polishes inspired by the hip International Playground store.

The set includes 3 polishes, plus some awesome quatrefoil nail stencils by YouPolish (15 large ones so they'll last you through several manis!). I love the look of these polishes together and think it's a spot on representation of this trendy store. Let's take a look at some swatches and nail art!

The Digital Dozen does Food - Day 1: Veggies

nothing to disclose

Hello, all! It's time for another Digital Dozen week and this time we're tackling the best thing in the entire world...FOOD! YESSSSS.

Sometime last week, I had the strongest urge to paint...vegetables. Don't ask me why, I just felt like it needed to happen? And so I made it happen. And, when I remembered what this week's theme was, it felt like a good jumping off point for the rest of my manis as well. My concept at this point is to take on each of the major food groups this week all while working on my detailed line work along the way.

Hello, all! I have yet another nail art post to share with you all today! Tonight, I turned on Battlestar Galactica (I'm watching it for the first time and loving it so far!), and started painting! The beauty of tonight's mani is that I did it just for me. I felt like doing nail art, so I did it :) that is a feeling I've been missing for awhile and I'm loving that my mojo is back.

The Digital Dozen does Winter Wonderland - Day 5: A Night Under the Northern Lights

Nothing to Disclose

Hello, all! We've made it to the end of yet another Digital Dozen week and I have to say, on the whole, I've really liked what I managed to come up with this week! I'm also proud of myself for staying on track with the challenge and getting my posts up on time (I've struggled with this in the past!).

For my final day, I've gone for something a bit more cutesy than my usual manis. I'm sure I am not in the minority when I say that one of my bucket list items is to see the Aurora Borealis (or Northern Lights) in person some day. Around this time last year I painted my first take on the Northern Lights, and when I saw this adorable painting on Pinterest, the idea of doing another (cuter) take on them would be perfect for Winter Wonderland.
