Nail Art: Talavera Mexican Tiles

nothing to disclose

Hey friends! If you follow me on instagram, you may have seen a sneak peek of today's look on Monday...yep, that's when I painted this! Unfortunately, work and life and trying to stay in some shape other than blob caused me to not have much time during the week for editing of any sort. So here we are, 6 days later ;)

Erin Condren Inspired - Pineapple Punch Nail Art

nothing to disclose

Hello, all! Happy Sunday/Monday (depending on when you're reading this!). Hope you had a nice weekend :) Here in the States we're gearing up for Thanksgiving this Thursday, but I couldn't help but share one final "summer" look with you all before we really truly move onto Fall and Winter looks. I hope you don't mind!

If you'll recall, a few months back I teamed up with the fabulous crew at Erin Condren and did a few fun manicures inspired by their planners. Well, in that post I shared two looks...but I had actually created four total designs, so today I've got another to share!

Erin Condren Life Planner inspired Guest Post

press sample & affiliate link

Hello, my friends! I seem to say this every time I post, but I have been so busy with work and wedding planning that it's hard to keep up with blogging as well! While, I'm so excited and loving the wedding planning process, I'm also looking forward to having some down time again to be creative and share with you all regularly again :)

But for today, I've got a fun post inspired by one of the tools I use to help keep me on track with all my goals - a mani (or two!?) inspired by the new Erin Condren Life Planners!

Head over to their blog to read my full post and let me know what you think about the looks (and the other ladies who created art as well!).

Happy 4th of July!

nothing to disclose

Hello, my friends! I hope that those of you outside the US had a lovely weekend. Here in the US, most places are off work as we're celebrating our Independence Day! I absolutely love seeing all the 4th of July inspired nail art each year and I like to partake as well whenever possible.

I've done a few looks in the past that I've loved, (like these two flag manis, and this floral & striped look that is reminiscent of what I've done today), but I think this year's look really holds true to my own design aesthetic as well as keeping it patriotic :)

Hey, all! I am yet again back with another Planner Society Kit washi tape inspired manicure and I am just so proud of how it turned out! You can check out the rest of the series here.

Today's look is inspired by the wide washi tape that came just a few days ago as part of the June kit. This particular tape was part of the washi tape kit and I'm just in love with. So lovely.

Daniel Wellington - Dapper Durham Rose Gold 34mm

press sample

Hey my friends! I hope your week has been going well! Anyone else still in shock that we're already into May? Time needs to slow its roll! ;)...heh, I guess pun intended because today's post is about a watch and the matching nail art I did!

So today is about my new Daniel Wellington Dapper Durham watch in rose gold! I am seriously obsessed with this watch...I've been wearing it almost daily for the last 2 weeks and I can't get enough of it. It's classic and understated and wearable with every single outfit I have. The face is the perfect size for me - not too big or too small in my opinion. It's clean and fresh looking while also making me feel incredibly stylish and sensible. Just perfection.

The Digital Dozen does Nail Heroes - Day 3: 25_SweetPea

nothing to disclose

Hey, all! I know I'm behind in my posting for Digital Dozen week, but I'm trying to catch up now! Continuing with our Nail Heroes week, I'm honoring one of the kindest and most supportive ladies in my "nail world" - Sarah from 25_SweetPea! She's pretty damn talented as well!

For those who may not know of her, you can find her on her Instagram (@25_sweetpea) or on her blog (http://www.25sweetpeas.com). Over the past few years, I've had the honor of her recreating a few of my manis and each time I am blown away by what she paints. Since this week is all about our heroes, I figured now was the time to recreate one of Sarah's looks :)

The Digital Dozen does Nail Heroes - Day 2: Sundance Catalogue

nothing to disclose

Day 2 of Digital Dozen week is here and I'm doing something a little different for today. While there are tons of nail artists who inspire me and are my heroes, one of my heroes is actually an inanimate object ha! When I find myself lacking inspiration, I turn to none other than a catalogue I receive in the mail every few weeks...

...anyone ever heard of Sundance Catalogue? Sundance was created by Robert Redford and features clothing and jewelry created by artisans who have tremendous talent. I own several pieces of jewelry from the site (which I always drool over in the catalogue), but I especially love browsing all the clothing that they feature. The artists do a great job of creating patterns and often pair them unconventionally with other patterns and I just find browsing the pages of their magazine so inspiring. Over the years I have recreated or been inspired by many a pattern I've spotted in this catalogue so today, my hero is this catalogue and all it's contributors!

The Digital Dozen does Nail Heroes - Day 1: Debbie from The Crumpet

nothing to disclose

Hello, all! Another Digital Dozen week is upon us and as always, I'm excited to see what these ladies dream up for this month's theme! In honor of the month of love (February), we're honoring our favorite nail artists/nail polish/nail tools/nail inspiration and doing a week of Nail Heroes!

For Day 1, it only felt fitting to honor the fearless leader of our group, Debbie from The Crumpet! She is, after all, the reason we're all apart of the DD :) If you've been in nail art/blogging in any way, shape, or form over the past 4 years, then you know Debbie and her work. She is not only the brains behind a million different groups and challenges, she is also a talented artist, a great writer, and someone I've looked to for a guidebook on "how it's done" since I started this nail art journey.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Geeks

nothing to disclose

Hi, everyone! This Friday and Saturday marks week 3 of our epic series, 40 Great Nail Art Ideas! This week we're doing a themed manicure instead of the color + pattern combo that we did last week.

So, we're all tackling the theme of geeks! Now, this can be interpreted in many different ways. It could be the classic geek...pocket protector, taped glasses, super smart, geek...or maybe something that we "geek-out" on...TV series, games, activities, etc. that the lay person my deem geeky.

Aside from nail art, I really enjoy playing video games and computer games when I have the time. I've played World of Warcraft off and on for years and growing up I spent hours playing Spyro on our classic Playstation 1! However, there is one game that still holds a place in my heart...Super Mario Brothers.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: The Illustrated Edition - Nail Art and Giddy Squealing

sponsored

Hello, all! I have an insanely special post to share with you today! You are all already aware of my passion and love of nail art, but did you know I'm also a huge book lover?? Seriously, just holding a book makes my heart pitter patter to a happy little dance. I used to work at Border's Bookstore and so I've acquired many books over the years. But I have to say, I haven't been this excited for a book release since...well, since July 21, 2007.

What happened on that date? Well, the final installment of the Harry Potter series was released on that day. I grew up reading Harry Potter and I can't say that I love any story or fantasy world more than this one. It makes my soul happy to even think about the wizarding world or Harry Potter!

And now, that feeling of pure, unadulterated joy is back because Jim Kay has lent his prowess to the book that started it all in the Illustrated Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Be still my beating heart.

The Digital Dozen does Fandom - Day 1: Outlander

Hello, hello! I hope everyone's week is off to a good start! I'm finally getting back into posting with my favorite ladies of the Digital Dozen and this week we're taking on Fandom!

I didn't know until this week that fandom is actually a portmanteau of Fanatic and Kingom and is basically what it seems - a bunch of people who are super fans of a particular topic/subject. Some common fandoms are Potterheads (Harry Potter fans), Whovians (Doctor Who fans), and even Gleeks (Glee fans). While many fandoms are based on TV Shows or famous book series, you can find groups of mega fans for almost any popular TV Show/Book/Movie/Music/Artist...anything!

For today, I've decided to show my love of the book series, Outlander, by Diana Gabaldon. This series was what originally hooked me on the genre of historical fiction and while the main character falls through portal in time, for the most part the series does a great job of maintaining the historical facts of the time. I am a huge fan of the series so it felt fitting to try a mani out inspired by it for this week.

Hugs for Emily - Houndstooth and Abstract Floral Nail Art

Nothing to Disclose

Hello all! Today is a very special post for a very special lady. Emily over at Very Emily has been going through some tough times lately and myself and a few other bloggers/friends want to show her just how special she is to us by each recreating one of her manicures.

Those of you in the nail polish world probably know Emily for her stunning swatches, nail art and photography. But if you've ever interacted with her, even briefly, you also know her kindness, humor and all around awesomeness. I'm lucky enough to have gotten to know Emily well in the last few months, and if anyone deserves an outpouring of love like this, it's Emily <3

For my mani, I decided to recreate one of my favorite manis by Emily (and maybe one of my favorites ever!). She did this amazing houndstooth look with Cath Kidson inspired flowers over them and as soon as I saw them I was obsessed. OBSESSED.

The Heir Chronicles - The Dragon Heir: Opal Inspired Nail Art & Tutorial

Hello, all! Today I have a nail art tutorial inspired by the Cinda Williams Chima young adult series, The Heir Chronicles! In a few short weeks, the final book of the 5 part series, The Sorcerer Heir, will be released and in honor of that occasion, a massive blog tour has been underway.

Those with magical powers in The Heir Chronicles series by Cinda Williams Chima are known as the Weir. The World of Weir blog tour leads up to the release of the can’t-miss series finale, The Sorcerer Heir (in-stores October 21st) by celebrating the magical fantasy world and the five types of magical guilds. Follow along for playlists, nail art, and more inspired by the series, plus exclusive excerpts from the upcoming finale.

The third week in the tour is all about book 3 in the series, The Dragon Heir. The magical guild of this book are the Seers and one of the main characters ends up coming across a powerful talisman with a giant opal in it called the Dragonheart (which you can see in the above book cover!). So, I've created an opal nail art look inspired by the opal on the book's cover and in the story!

Click through to see the tutorial for this look and to learn more about the series and blog tour!

31 Day Challenge 2.0, Day 8 - Dotticure: Aboriginal Artwork inspired Nail Art

Nothing to Disclose

Hello, all! Hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend :) I've been feeling a bit under the weather so I'm hoping tomorrow brings feeling better and not worse! I wanted to post my Day 8 of the 31 Day Challenge 2.0 before Day 9 officially starts tomorrow. The theme for today is 'dotticure' and while I love love LOVE how most dotticures look, it's really not a mani style I do often.

I really considered doing a traditional dotticure for today, but when I was looking for inspiration of "dots", I came across Aboriginal artwork (which is essentially Pointillism) and got inspired by the concept of doing something like it for today.
