Hello, all! I have an insanely special post to share with you today! You are all already aware of my passion and love of nail art, but did you know I'm also a huge book lover?? Seriously, just holding a book makes my heart pitter patter to a happy little dance. I used to work at Border's Bookstore and so I've acquired many books over the years. But I have to say, I haven't been this excited for a book release since...well, since July 21, 2007.
What happened on that date? Well, the final installment of the Harry Potter series was released on that day. I grew up reading Harry Potter and I can't say that I love any story or fantasy world more than this one. It makes my soul happy to even think about the wizarding world or Harry Potter!
And now, that feeling of pure, unadulterated joy is back because Jim Kay has lent his prowess to the book that started it all in the Illustrated Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Be still my beating heart.

The Digital Dozen does Fandom - Day 1: Outlander
Hello, hello! I hope everyone's week is off to a good start! I'm finally getting back into posting with my favorite ladies of the Digital Dozen and this week we're taking on Fandom!
I didn't know until this week that fandom is actually a portmanteau of Fanatic and Kingom and is basically what it seems - a bunch of people who are super fans of a particular topic/subject. Some common fandoms are Potterheads (Harry Potter fans), Whovians (Doctor Who fans), and even Gleeks (Glee fans). While many fandoms are based on TV Shows or famous book series, you can find groups of mega fans for almost any popular TV Show/Book/Movie/Music/Artist...anything!
For today, I've decided to show my love of the book series, Outlander, by Diana Gabaldon. This series was what originally hooked me on the genre of historical fiction and while the main character falls through portal in time, for the most part the series does a great job of maintaining the historical facts of the time. I am a huge fan of the series so it felt fitting to try a mani out inspired by it for this week.

The Heir Chronicles - The Dragon Heir: Opal Inspired Nail Art & Tutorial
Hello, all! Today I have a nail art tutorial inspired by the Cinda Williams Chima young adult series, The Heir Chronicles! In a few short weeks, the final book of the 5 part series, The Sorcerer Heir, will be released and in honor of that occasion, a massive blog tour has been underway.

Those with magical powers in The Heir Chronicles series by Cinda Williams Chima are known as the Weir. The World of Weir blog tour leads up to the release of the can’t-miss series finale, The Sorcerer Heir (in-stores October 21st) by celebrating the magical fantasy world and the five types of magical guilds. Follow along for playlists, nail art, and more inspired by the series, plus exclusive excerpts from the upcoming finale.
The third week in the tour is all about book 3 in the series, The Dragon Heir. The magical guild of this book are the Seers and one of the main characters ends up coming across a powerful talisman with a giant opal in it called the Dragonheart (which you can see in the above book cover!). So, I've created an opal nail art look inspired by the opal on the book's cover and in the story!
