The Digital Dozen does Neon - Day 1: Tribal Print

nothing to disclose

Hello, hello! No, your eyes aren't deceiving you, I am in fact posting for Digital Dozen week again! And! For the first time...well...ever, I've got all 5 DD posts FINISHED before the start of the week! I know, I'm not even sure who I am anymore either ;)

This week we're tackling the general theme of "Neon". This can be any take on it we'd like, so for day one, I got intricate and messy all at once!

I've been so busy and swamped with work, life, side projects for the blog and swatching lately that my favorite nail art gigs end up getting on the back burner. Because of this, I'm so proud that I actually have art to share this week. And I hope you all enjoy it!

I started with a base of Salon Perfect's Sugar Cube and then used the dry brush technique to add the neon brush strokes over that.

I used a bunch of Salon Perfect's new Neon Pop! colors for this look (and this entire week) and I'm really impressed by how great they are. Shown are Nothing But Blue Skies, Wrapped Around My Pink-y, Yowza Yellow, Faded Up Fuchsia, & Loopy Lime.

I used black acrylic paint and a long and thin striping brush that I've trimmed down for the detailing. I kind of wish I had mattified this look so you could see the tribal line work better, but I wanted the neon to pop as much as possible.

So, how do you like this look? I know it's not the most original, but I still really like the outcome! Let me know what you think and be sure to check out the other ladies' manis via the inlinkz below! :)
