Happy Monday, all! I have a really special post to share with you all today! Myself and a few fellow nail bloggers have decided to link up every once in awhile and do posts inspired by a group chosen theme. Our first ever theme is....Floral!
Of course I am absolutely ecstatic about this ;) I love my florals! If you've been following my blog for awhile, you might (small chance) remember that last year I purchased an Erin Condren planner and since then I have become a bit obsessed with planners, lists, and all things washi/stickers/pens/you name it. My current obsession is my new Ban.do planner and since I'll be able to start using it at the beginning of August, I thought it would be fun to do a mani inspired by the stunning cover!
As soon as I saw this cover, I knew I had to have it. I mean, look at it!! It's just the perfect style of floral for my taste and I love the unique color palette that they've chosen. It's just lovely and classy and I know I will love it for the next year+.
I used a base of my favorite white, OPI's My Boyfriend Scales Walls, which I haven't used in ages and now I'm kicking myself over it. It's still the perfect white. Opaque in 2-3 coats.
I used a mix of polish and acrylic paints for the flowers (Salon Perfect Wrapped Around My Pink-y for the neon pink, and Cirque's Hustle for the yellow...the rest was acrylic paint).
I started by painting the flowers first and then I'd come back in and roughly "sketch" in the blue, pink, green, red, and black background leaves. I finished everything up with a matte top coat.
It was tricky to figure out what parts of the print to try and duplicate on my nails, and while I really love the negative space effect of some of the flowers, I wasn't confident I'd be able to make them look like flowers...so I stuck with what you see here.
Overall, I really love how this turned out! I'm in love with my new planner and I hope this is a good start to it :) I'd love to hear how you like these! Are any of you planner fiends like me? If not, you really should join in ;)
Happy Polishing and be sure to check out the manis created by my fellow bloggers via the inlinkz below!
