The Digital Dozen does Autumn - Day 1: Leaves on Wood

nothing to disclose

Hello, all! I've got a short and sweet post to share with you today but I'm still very excited about it as it's the start of yet another wonderful Digital Dozen week! As we're officially into the Fall season here in the northern hemisphere, we're taking on the simple yet effective theme of Autumn!

Fall is without a doubt my favorite time of year. October, November and December are my favorite months and I'm just so thrilled that we're going to be getting cooler days and all the best holidays coming up.

For day one, I kept it pretty straight forward and painted a simple woodgrain with a leaf on each nail. It reminds me of leaves falling on a deck outside and I love the feelings that that image evokes for me. It's pretty simple in design, but I think it's still unique and very much "me". I quite like how these turned out!

I started with a base of Zoya's Flynn and then used acrylic paints for the rest. I have a thin striping brush that I used with a tan-grey paint and carefully created the base wood grain. I then followed up with the base color of each leaf. With watered down acrylic paints I added the different colors to the leaves and the veins running through each one.

And I of course had to mattify ;)

How do you like these?? I'd love to hear your thoughts and be sure to head on over to the inlinkz below to see what the rest of the ladies did for today! We actually have a new member as well, the talented Mina from Cubbiful!

Happy Polishing :)
