LVX - Fall 2015: Swatches, Review & Giveaway!

press sample

Hello, all! I have swatches of the beautiful new LVX Fall collection to share today as well as a Giveaway for you all to take part in! (The Giveaway is through Instagram so head HERE to check out how to enter - it's super easy! The giveaway will run for 48 hours and you must have a US postal code).

This is my second time using LVX polishes (I purchased the a fall collection for myself a few years back and loved it!), and I have to say, I still really like this brand. Their collections do a great job of representing the seasons, while also staying very fresh and unique. Like this collection, it screams fall to me, but I can't say I've seen this variation of colors together before and I'm digging that!

So, let's take a closer look!

Rhone is a pale ballerina pink with a sheer formula that is patching for the first few coats, but it is still easy enough to work with. Because of the ridges in my nails, this is more prominent than if you did not have the ridges, so keep that in mind...be patient on application and you should be alright. Shown is 4 thin coats.

Sienna is a burnt sienna creme with a great formula! As I mentioned in my intro, LVX does a great job of presenting "new" colors for the season and I absolutely love that they included this shade in their collection. Lovely color and I like that it's almost a fall take on the classic red polish. Shown is 2 coats.

Nu is a pale mauve that is another very sheer formula. When I opened the collection up, I actually thought I had received two of the same polishes because Rhone and Nu are so similar. However, Nu is the darker of the two and a bit more nude in color than Rhone. Shown is 4 thin coats.

Militaire is perhaps my favorite of the bunch. It's a muddy grey creme with khaki undertones that is just so lovely on the nail. It's subtle but still have some fun going on. Great for the season but I can also see myself wearing this year round. Shown is 2 coats.

Narcissist is a blackened blue green shimmer that gets more teal the more coats you apply. The shimmer has a slight duo-chrome effect to it that makes this a beautiful and immensely interesting shade. This is definitely another favorite of mine. Shown is 3 coats.

Monarch is the final shade of the collection and is a coppery gold metallic shimmer. It does have a thin formula but the coverage is easily build-able. Because of the metallic finish, brush strokes are a possibility but careful application could help avoid this. Shown is 3 coats.

Overall, I quite like LVX's take on fall. I like the unconventional color palette (that still screams fall), and there is a nice ratio of cremes to shimmers. Some of the formulas required 4 coats, but that's the nature of light, sheer polishes. If I had to choose, I'd say Militaire, Narcissist, and Sienna are my faves.

You can purchase the entire fall collection from the LVX website for $16/bottle. They are big 5 free, vegan friendly, and cruelty free which makes me a happy gal and they come in a 0.5mL bottle (great size!).
