Hello, all! I got home late from work tonight and I'm sleepy but I wanted to stay on track for Digital Dozen week so here's my quick mani for the night! I was inspired by this fabulous black and white vintage lace dress that then inspired this just as fabulous cake! Who doesn't love lace dresses and tasty cakes?! Sadly, I'm not so sure that I've had success with the theme for this mani.
I think I sort of failed at keeping these looking vintage...and lacy. I was using the cake pattern as my inspiration more than the dress because I wasn't able to get a close enough shot of the dress and see what was going on. I so love how that cake looks, but I don't think I was able to translate it onto my nails very well.
That's not to say I don't like the look of these, but I don't know if I've really succeeded in the "vintage" theme for this challenge...but I'm going to pretend like I did ;)
This was one of those manis that I can never decide between glossy or matte finishes. I love how the matte looks, but I love how clear and bright the black is in the glossy. Always a tough decision so I thought I'd share both versions with you.
I used a base of OPI's My Boyfriend Scales Walls, then used my black acrylic paint and detail brush to paint in the lace pattern. Pretty quick and easy and I do like how they turned out.
Do you think I strayed majorly from the vintage theme? Does it still count if my inspiration was vintage? ;)
Happy Polishing and check out my fellow lacqueristas posts in the inlinkz below :)
