Tribal Geometrics

Happy hump day everyone! Does anyone else feel like Wednesdays take forever? I can't wait for the weekend! I'm going to make this a short post because I'm going to run and catch up on some TV shows with the boyfriend.

Some exciting news in my corner of the world is that I'm now a Barielle blogger! I was sent some awesome products to try out and I figured I'd use one of them tonight. I'm not really sure what genre this pattern is...a tribal, geometric blend?...but I think I like it!

I started with a base of Barielle's Almondine which is a nice creamy shade that reminds me a bit of OPI's My Vampire is Buff. I'd be curious to do a comparison of the two side by side. I think Almondine has a bit more yellow in it. The formula was alright but did take some getting used to. I ended up needing 3 coats to reach opacity but that's pretty normal for neutrals like this.
I followed that with a BUNCH of tiny lines using my black acrylic paint and my trimmed down detail brush. I started by drawing the horizontal-ish border lines and then filled in the vertical and angled lines randomly.
I had started painting my index finger and happened to leave the triangle blank when filling in the black lines so I decided to leave one or two of those per finger to break up the monotony of the many lines.
What do you think of these? This was a pretty quick mani for me and my lines aren't perfect, but I really like the sort of "sketched" quality of these. Pleasantly surprised :)

Happy Polishing! :)
