So I know that it has become pretty standard for me to post these challenges late, but this time, it wasn't for lack of time or being tired that I didn't post on time. I didn't post because water marbling is in fact, the worst thing in the world. At the very least the most infuriating thing. File these under "never want to do again!"
I've spent at least 6 hours over the past 3 days trying to get some semblance of water marbling on my fingers to post for the challenge. I think I can safely say that water marbling is not, and will never be, a part of my repertoire. I hate it. I bow down to all the ladies who continually produce beautiful works of water marbling art, but I can't do it! It's so frustrating and I just waste polish! I didn't even try to do my thumb - I'm a failure! ;)
Anyway, even though I don't like these, I had to get them done and move forward with the challenge. I used China Glaze's Tart-y for the Party and Mimosas Before Manis as the purple and coral and OPI's A-Piers to be Tan as the brown. To be completely honest, I kept trying a bunch of different color combos until I found polishes that would spread evenly out in the water - but even these only spread for the first ring. In the end, I'm happy this combo worked because it reminds me of canyon walls or something you'd see in the Grand Canyon (the boyfriend just got back from a 4 day hike there!) or Bryce Canyon.
Yeesh! So glad to have these out of the way! Those were definitely my least favorite day of the challenge so far! Have any of you successfully done water marbling without wanting to pull your hair out? ;)
Happy Polishing! :)
Ah I could never do that, it looks so difficult! I love it so much though, good job dear :)
ReplyDeleteNevertheless you hate this method you've done a beautiful design!! Maybe it just wasn't your day? When I tried it myself it seems quite simple to me but polish-wasting :)) you're right! If you haven't seen I was nominated for the Liebster award and your blog is one of my favourite so I delegate this award to your wonderful blog!

I like this! The colors are definitely canyon like, and the unique design helps the effect. I'm very impressed that you tried so hard on a technique you aren't comfortable with - just further proves that this challenge is in fact a challenge! haha!
ReplyDeleteI honestly have no idea how everyone is able to do it! This technique will forever elude me!
ReplyDeleteAww you're so sweet! I will go check out the post now :) Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteGirl, I was so frustrated! Definitely the biggest challenge for me yet (hopefully for the whole challenge, too!).
