Delush Polish - Dames of Thrones Collection: Swatches, Review & Nail Art

press sample

Happy happy FriYAY! Are you guys as excited about this as I am? I can't believe yet another week is behind us...but a new Friday means that the latest Delush Polish collection is available! The Dames of Thrones collection (inspired by the power women of Game of Thrones) released today at 12pm EST and it's such a spot of collection.

Many of the polishes feature (what I think is) the signature Delush round glitters and each shade is a lovely combination of base color and glitter. I'm also a huge fan of Game of Thrones so it was really fun going through this collection and really seeing the women of the show conveyed through a nail polish!

Let's get to it!

A Knight to Remember is a blackened jelly with bold holographic silver glitters in the circle, hex, and micro variety. There are hints of blue in this as well and it makes for a nice update for those of us who love a black polish. Shown is 3 coats with some fishing, though I flipped the bottle on it's end for a few minutes and was able to easily grab those big glitters. Inspired by Brienne of Tarth.

I did some simple nail art over this one, roughly inspired by the armor that Brienne wears in the HBO version of Game of Thrones. I went with a bright teal to kind of signified the patina that older metal acquires through time.

Belle of Winterfell is vivid burnt orange jelly packed with orange and gold glitters in small and micro size. I was worried this was going to be sheer on application, but the first coat was quite opaque and the second coat was perfection. I am obsessed with this polish. Inspired by Sansa Stark.

I'm not a huge fan of how this art turned out but I figured I'd share anyway. I wanted to do something that represented Sansa as a character. On the one hand, she is the "beauty" of the show, yet she is also strong and badass when she needs to be which I appreciate. I painted some black lace to represent her tough side paired with her beauty.

Girl of Many Faces is dark chocolate jelly with microfine glitters in red, copper, gold, and black. I love a brown polish and like that this is spiced up a bit with the extra glitters. Really nice formula on this one and shown is just 2 coats. Inspired by Arya Stark.

Dancing with Dragons is a washed out cobalt blue jelly with a mix of iridescent glitters in medium hex size as well as smaller hexes. This probably the most sheer jelly of the set, though that doesn't bother me much. I've seen swatches of this over black and it is drool worthy so there are lots of things to be done with this blue! Shown is 3 coats. Inspired by Daenerys Targaryen.

The Priestest is a vampy maroon jelly with copper flakies and large to small holographic circle glitter. This is such a lovely color palette and really is the perfect shade for fall. Shown is 2 coats. Inspired by Melissandre.

Garden of Thorns is jewel toned green jelly packed to the brim with magenta and green circle glitters as well as a scattering of square and micro glitter. This one is just awesome. The depth and dimension that you can achieve with this in just 2 coats is astounding! Since there are so many glitters in this one, just be patient with the polish as it might be on the thicker side. Inspired by Margaery Tyrell.

When I read the name of this polish I knew I wanted to paint flowers...I just wasn't sure what kind. Adrianna always puts together stunning promo photos to go along with each collection and so I decided to paint the flowers from the promo image! Roses, baby's breath, and rose stems with thorns. It didn't turn out quite as clear as I'd hoped, but that's alright.

Queen of No Mercy is the final shade of the collection and is a rich royal purple jelly with round, hex, and micro glitters in red and purple. Another really great shade for this time of year! The formula was alright and shown is 2 coats. Inspired by Cersei Lannister.

My final nail art look is inspired by the most vicious of them all - Cersei and her ability to portray an innocent and truth front, yet will jump at any opportunity to stab you in the back to better her own positioning in the world of King's Landing. I painted a white rose to signify the "pure" part of Cersei, and then had blood dripping from the rose to show the nasty side of her.

Overall, I really love this collection. I think it's a wonderful take on not only the coming fall season, but also does a great job of representing the show and it's female characters. I'm loving Garden of Thorns quite a bit!
