The Digital Dozen does Spooky Days - Day 1: Shimmer Polish Bella, Vampire Fang Nail Art

Press Sample

Hello, all! Yes, you read that title correctly - The Digital Dozen is doing an extra week this month by partaking in a special week of extra spooky nail art! With Halloween on Friday, it felt fitting to have a week of fun themed looks to share with you all.

I've been wanting use Shimmer Polish's Bella in a fall themed mani for ages and when I finally got a chance to swatch this beauty, it practically begged for some fantastic nail art to compliment it ;)

Whether intentional or not, Bella is the perfect vampy fall shade. This black base crelly is packed full of red, orange and silver micro glitters. For those who know the Twilight books, my first thought on seeing this polish was VAMPIRE since the main character in those novels is a vampire named Bella! So, naturally, I had to paint a disembodied mouth and blood dripped fangs over this ;)

While I know that Bella could easily have reached opacity on it's own, I ended up doing 2 coats over a black base polish. I think it really gave the polish some dimension and depth and I just love the look of it. The formula on this was lovely. I was slightly worried that it would be thicker, but it was super easy to use.

The nail art on top was done with various acrylic paints and I did my best to try and make the lips look shiny and realistic.

I really love this shade. I think it's a wonderful look for fall and while the orange and red paired with the black could be perceived as Halloween-y, I think this could easily be worn year round if paired over a different color polish.

Bella and many other Shimmer polishes are available over on Shimmer Polish's Etsy page for $12/bottle. Be sure to follow Shimmer on FacebookInstagram & Twitter to stay up to date with the latest polishes! What do you think of this shade and the nail art? Loving it as much as me?
