Pattern Love - Black Base Floral

Hello, all! I've had a whirlwind week so far, but I got the urge to do some nail art late last night and decided to run with it. I've had this image by Lab Partners up on my computer screen for a few days because I just loved how the black background looked with the vibrant non-traditional floral colors. Does anyone else leave stuff open for days on their screen? It annoys the crap out of me to have a ton of tabs and windows open so leaving it up forces me to actually get it done so I can close the tab ;)

Not only did the colors strike me, I also really liked how unique the different floral types were in this pattern. I love the funkiness that they have and really appreciate the vintage-y feel that they have.
I started with a black base of American Apparel's Hassid (which was flawless! I've never had a black be so thin yet so opaque after one coat.). It's REALLY hard to see, but I actually did a dark purple (China Glaze's Charmed I'm Sure) floral background before doing the bright flowers in the foreground. I wish it had shown up better since this was one of my favorite elements of the original pattern.
I followed that up with the bright flowers. The coral is Essie's Tart Deco, the blue is Lime Crime's Once in a Blue Mousse, and the pink and purple are China Glaze's Rich & Famous and Lotus Begin, respectively. I used a teeny tiny trimmed down detail brush for this whole look and I finished it off with a matte top coat.
I actually did both hands with this pattern, though I was so tired last night that I forgot to take pictures of my right hand. I'm determined to do both hands more often and eventually improve my precision painting with my non-dominant hand.
Hope everyone's week is going well so far. I'm writing this post on my lunch break after a very stress filled morning at work. At least the day is going by quickly! ;)

Happy polishing :)
