Happy Friday, everyone! I've got a really quick post for you as I finished these right as I was running out the door...to go see the Lion King Musical! I know, that doesn't seem like a cartoon would translate well to theatre, but it's amazing! I saw it probably ten years ago now and it was absolutely amazing! I'm so thrilled to be seeing it again and I knew I had to do some nail art to get in the mood for it.
One of the most memorable scenes from both the movie and the play is the sunrise at the very beginning so I decided to take a stab at recreating that. I used the same method as my Inspired by a Song nails just with different colors and a instead of stars, I painted the sun and (I think they're called) Acacia trees silhouetted by the sun.
I started with a gradient background using Zoya's Pepper, Natalie and Arizona (in the order from the cuticles to the tip) than painted on the sun with Zoya's Pippa. I added in the clouds with China Glaze's Kalahari Kiss, Desert Sun, and more of Zoya's Pepper. With my detail brush and black acrylic paint, I finished off the look with the black ground and the acacia trees.
I'm so happy with how these turned out and I'm even more happy to get to go see this play! I'll be sure to let you know how it is later ;)
Happy Polishing! :)
