China Glaze Lite Brites - Summer 2016 Collection: Swatches & Review

press sample

Hiya, everyone!

Hope your week is going well :) I can't believe it's already Wedneday and that it's already almost MAY!? Where is the time running away to!? I'm getting married in almost 6 months and that is just INSANE to me. Someone come help me plan the rest of it?? :D

Today I've got swatches of the super fun China Glaze Summer 2016 Collection, Lite Brites! I honestly love swatching China Glaze's collections because they're always so beautiful together and create a cohesive and inspiring set of shades. This one absolutely has me excited for summer!

As always, I try to keep my swatches as true to color as possible, but keep in mind that some of these are bright neons and don't always translate well to photos. For reference, I shoot all my swatch photos under two 5500 K ottlight blubs directly onto my nail so different lighting will also affect the look of the photos.

Let's take a look and you'll have to tell me your favorite! :D

Let's Jam is a periwinkle creme with subtle iridescent shimmer. Shown is 2 smooth coats.

Whip it Good is a vivid banana yellow creme and is a pretty shade with a nice formula. 3 coats.

Lip Smackin' Good is a neon bubblegum pink creme with a subtle shimmer. This was a touch thick and I needed 3 coats.

I Got a Blue Attitude isn't actually blue...definitely more of a violet on me (though in some light it leans blurple). This is one that was hard to really capture the true color and depending on the monitor you use, it looks more purple or more blurple. My computer at home shows the below swatch as a blurple, but my work computer make it look a vivid violet. So...yeah ha! Sorry guys. 2 easy coats.

Lime After Lime is, well, a lime green creme and basically the perfect summer shade. Shown is 3 coats.

None of Your Risky Business is another great summer shade - a neon carrot creme that is going to live on my toes this summer. 3 coats.

I'll Pink to That is a hot pink creme and another great summer shade. This and the 2 previous shades are probably my favorite palette of the whole collection. 3 coats.

Hot Flash is a tomato red leaning creme that I thought would need several coats, but 2 was perfection.

What I Like About Blue is a sapphire blue shimmer with a good formula and shown is 2 easy coats.

Bite Me is another hot pink shade, this time with a subtle gold shimmer mixed in. Another hard one to capture on camera. 2 coats.

We Got the Beet is a purple jelly with gold/copper shimmer flakes mixed in. Really pretty if not sort of disjointed in this collection? Regardless, still pretty bright in direct light and uber pretty. 2 coats works, but I've shown 3 here.

Papa Done Peach is a traffic cone orange version of We Got the Beet. Fun shade and nice enough formula - 3 coats.

So I'll be honest...I'm feeling super self-conscious about my swatches. I have looked at a ton of different reviews and photos of these and I honestly don't know what to tell you in regards to which are truest to "real" life colorwise. The color all depends on your lighting, the alignment of the stars, and whether or not you got a good night's sleep the night before ;) But seriously, I apologize if my photos aren't 100% accurate. I tried, I promise.

This collection is available now from various retailers (Sally Beauty and Ulta but check here for specifics!). Be sure to follow China Glaze on your favorite social media site to stay up to date with the latest collections and releases!
