Zoya | Sophisticates

press sample

Hey everyone! Well, it has been a ridiculously long time since I've written a blog post. I am definiltey a little bit out of practice but hoping to get back into the swing of things. I've moved, I'm working like crazy, and I'm studying for a crazy test at the end of October...but I needed a bit of a break from all that so I finally got to swatch the Zoya Sophisticates to share with you all :)

...well, I have half of the Sophisticates collection to share as I was accidentally sent two of this side of the collection instead of the whole collection. But that's alright because I'm so in love with this set of polishes! Maybe I can do a little giveaway or something and share the other set I was given? Hmm...

Anyhow, here they are! 6 lovely fall shades in a good mix of cremes and shimmer finishes.

Yvonne | Super smooth Mulberry/Plum creme that could potentially have been a one coater, but because I didn't like how my nail ridges showed through, I went with 2 coats.

Mona | A boysenberry creme with purple undertones and has another nice formula. 2 coats.

Elaine | A deep chocolate brown creme that weirdly almost leans purple? It's nice but after 2 coats you lose some of the depth of color. Here is 2 coats.

Hadley | An indigo blue creme that is another that is almost too dark a blue so it's going to look black in certain light. Nice formula though and just 2 coats needed (1 possibly).

Tabitha | This is a shimmer army green shades that was a little bit streaky on me and I ended up needing 3 coats to even everything out.

Gal | Aptly named (presumably) for Gal Gadot of the Wonder Woman movie, I could see WW rocking this gold shimmer. It's set in a clear base, but had easy buildable coverage and I just needed 3-ish coats for opacity. This could be nice over another polish as well.

Overall, I like this set of shades. I do think some of them are a touch too dark and you lose some of the color (looking at you, Elaine and Hadley). Yvonne and Mona are very similar, but Yvonne will be the one for those who enjoy a pinker shade, while Mona is more purple. All said, I think my fave of this collection is Yvonne, with Hadley in the running because I'm still a sucker for a dark blue.

Which is your favorite shade for fall? Happy Polishing :)
