The Hunt Mani Monday - Gem Nail Art Tutorial

Hi all! Happy Monday! I'm very excited to share that I'm going to be partnering with the lovely folks over at The Hunt for the next few months do do a Mani Monday tutorial each week! They have recently done a soft launch of their blog, with a full launch coming next week, and you can see all my future looks over there soon :) You can also easily browse their iPhone app to post and find hunts, as well as just browse for general inspiration. 

To get things started with them, I decided to do a tutorial inspired by The Hunt logo! It's a really cool looking gem in varying shades of reds and I thought it would look fantastic translated into nail art form. This is definitely a trickier mani, but if you've got the patience and the tools, it's definitely doable for anyone. If painting this on all your nails seems daunting, try doing an accent nail instead - and don't be afraid to mix up the color scheme :)

The Hunt: The Cure For Outfit Envy...and now nail envy! ;)

Hello, all! Today I have a fun and simple tribal print tutorial to share with you all! I'm sure other nail artists out there can appreciate feeling stumped on what to create sometimes and we all have our ways to be inspired. I think I've mentioned it before, but I really enjoy using the website called The Hunt to help spark my inspiration and I tend to have 15+ tabs open whenever I browse the site. It's a bit addicting and I almost always find something I like or want to recreate. 

Today marks the official relaunch of their iPhone app and it has an entirely new look and feel that just makes me so happy. It is very sophisticated and intuitive and needless to say I've been perusing the app a lot lately. I mean, look how pretty it is! 

I've been noticing a lot of the "hunts" are looking for nail art tutorials and more often than not these hunt's are lacking any "finds" for the tutorials. SO! I decided to take on a hunt myself! There was one in particular that really caught my attention and I knew I wanted to attempt solving the hunt with a tutorial I put together myself. The hunter asked for an "easy-ish way" to do a tribal like shown so I did my own take on it. It also gave me an opportunity to do a design I might not have done on my own. 

So here it is, my how-to for colorful tribal nails :) 

Hunt The VMAs - Katy Perry inspired look!

How's everyone's Sunday night going? Did anyone watch the VMAs? I partnered up with The Hunt to do a mani inspired by Katy Perry's VMA dress and I am pleasantly surprised with the outcome :) She wore a leopard print dress that was covered in gold dragonflies and it seemed like such a daunting and tough look to replicate! I tried a few different looks but eventually ended up with leopard print and an accent nail with a gold dragonfly! The dragonfly is actually 6 different stud rhinestones that I got from the Born Pretty Store and it seemed like fate that I had all the right shapes to make this happen!
