LVX Summer 2016 - Swatches & Review

press sample

Hello, my friends! I hope that everyone had a great weekend :) Sundays are always bitter sweet as I feel the impending start of my work week all to much...but I try my best to keep my worrisome thoughts at bay...and what better way to do that than with nail polish!?

Today brings the lovely LVX Summer 2016 collection! I especially love LVX because they seem to always do mostly creme collections. As a die hard creme finish lover, this is ideal for me! Plus, their shades seem to always be spot on for each season. LVX is 7-Free and Vegan friendly/Cruelty Free polish that comes in a 0.5 fl oz bottle (so you get your money's worth).

La Mer is an ocean blue creme. Beautiful shade, rich and deep and since it's a blue, well, I love it. 2 coats should do the trick for most, but I've shown 3 here. This is a potential stainer so use a base coat with the baby.

Serene is aptly named as it's a calming periwinkle creme. The formula was slightly thin so I needed 3 coats to hide my nail ridges. Still very wearable though and a very pretty shade.

Bon Bon is a rose pink creme that I like more more on than I was expecting. Should be a fun color for this summer! Shown is 3 coats.

Lush is a dusty mint green creme that is a little more muted than I'd typically expect from a summer collection but shown with the rest of the polishes, it adds a nice balance. Shown is 3 coats.

Saffron is a saffron yellow crelly that is another I'm surprisingly in love with. I love a great yellow polish but I didn't expect to enjoy this quite so much. Very unique shade of yellow and I can see it being flattering on various skin tones. Now, all that gushing, I do need to mention that the formula was very thick on this one. It's workable, but you'll need to be patient. Also, make sure to use a base coat with this one and avoid getting ANY polish on your skin - this is a huge stainer! That said, I was still willing to brave that as I love the color so much (you can check out my past mani with this shade here). Shown here is 3 coats.

Coquelicot is a vivid and insanely rich tiger orange with a similar formula to Saffron (a sticky kind of crelly). It's an awesome shade and I surprised that it doesn't seem to clash with my skin tone as much as I thought. Shown is 3 coats.

I've had swatches of this collection ready to go for over a month but I had a bit of a panic that delayed me. I write out all my thoughts on collections in a notebook so that I can reference them later when I'm writing my review. Well...I misplaced said notebook. I kept putting off writing this (and 2 other reviews I'll share this week) until I found the notebook. Well, thankfully, I found it! I was worried I was going to have to just share the polishes and give an estimate based on my vague recollections of the polishes...and we don't want that!

All of these are available now through the LVX website where you can take a look at their past collections as well. Be sure to follow LVX on your favorite social media site to stay up to date on their latest collections and promotions!
