ncLA - Valentine's Day 2015: Swatches & Review

Hello, all! With Valentine's Day just 2 weeks away, it's very important to begin considering what polish you'll be wearing (priorities, people). Whether you're spending the evening with that special significant other, or an evening with two special significant others (Ben & Jerry, mabye?), rocking some fun V-Day nail polish is bound to make the day all the better.

ncLA has released a fun Valentine's Day collection consisting of 5 glitter toppers and a bunch of super cute nail strips. I have two of the glitter toppers to share with you today so let's take a look!
Heartbreaker is a fun glitter topper consisting of small black hex glitter and iridescent white (almost see through) heart glitters. Since it's a pretty basic polish, I wanted to do a fun base for it. While I think the glitter is supposed to just be black and white, for some reason I was seeing hints of teal in the mix (maybe that iridescent-ness I mentioned) and it inspired by to do the gradient that you see. I used ncLA's Catwalk Queen as a base and then did the gradient with acrylic paints. I really liked the way that this topper spread on each nail - the brush managed to have just the right amount of glitter to base ratio that I only needed one coat for this look.
Love Me is the other topper I have to share today. It's about as simple as they come, but still very fun for this time of year. Love Me is simple red heart glitter in a clear base and I think the sky is the limit for what you could do with this. I've shown is layered over a light lavender (Zoya's Megan), but you could easily place these glitters in however manner you'd like, with whatever fun base you'd like. This one did require me to shake the bottle a few times before I painted each nail, but that's to be expected with large glitters like this. Shown is 1-2 coats plus top coat.

Overall, these two are some fun polishes for the time of year. I know I'm not usually a fan of holiday polishes, but I think Heartbreaker could work through the rest of the year, and hey, you never know when you might need some fun red heart glitter :)

You can purchase these now from the ncLA site and be sure to follow ncLA on your favorite social media site to stay up to date on their latest collections and promotions!
