Erin Condren Inspired - Pineapple Punch Nail Art

nothing to disclose

Hello, all! Happy Sunday/Monday (depending on when you're reading this!). Hope you had a nice weekend :) Here in the States we're gearing up for Thanksgiving this Thursday, but I couldn't help but share one final "summer" look with you all before we really truly move onto Fall and Winter looks. I hope you don't mind!

If you'll recall, a few months back I teamed up with the fabulous crew at Erin Condren and did a few fun manicures inspired by their planners. Well, in that post I shared two looks...but I had actually created four total designs, so today I've got another to share!

Hello, all! Happy Friday! I have a double post to share with you today, both related to the Digital Dozen does Food week. The Digital Dozen does Food - Day 4: Dairy

nothing to disclose

Hello, hello! I'm going to keep things short and sweet today because, wowza, as I am writing this, I am exhausted!

If you've been around this week, you'll recall that not only is it Digital Dozen Food week, I'm also taking us on a mini food group journey! As we've done Vegetables, Fruits, & Proteins so far, the only things left are dairy and grains...so today, is dairy!

Monday was Vegetables, Tuesday was Fruits, and today, is Proteins! Now, you might have to use your imagination just a tad to see what I've painted, but hopefully you still see it!

The Digital Dozen does Food - Day 2: Fruit

nothing to disclose

Hello, again! Day 2 of DD week is upon us and we're continuing on our food group journey! Yesterday was veggies, and today, I've decided to paint some cute fruit! As fruits are one of my favorite food groups, I decided to paint some of my favorites to indulge in. I've also got a quick little tutorial of sorts for how I paint this so let's take a look!

The Digital Dozen does Food - Day 1: Veggies

nothing to disclose

Hello, all! It's time for another Digital Dozen week and this time we're tackling the best thing in the entire world...FOOD! YESSSSS.

Sometime last week, I had the strongest urge to paint...vegetables. Don't ask me why, I just felt like it needed to happen? And so I made it happen. And, when I remembered what this week's theme was, it felt like a good jumping off point for the rest of my manis as well. My concept at this point is to take on each of the major food groups this week all while working on my detailed line work along the way.

The Digital Dozen does Neon - Day 4: Paisley

nothing to disclose

Hello, hello! I've got another short and sweet post for you all today (again). Today is Day 4 of Digital Dozen does Neon!

Even though I've had my Digital Dozen manis done for almost 2 weeks, I wasn't able to get my act together enough to actually edit them all before hand ;) I have a terrible habit of taking about 100 photos of each mani (I know, what is wrong with me!?) and then it takes years to flip through them all and decide which I like best. The fiance often laughs at me as I flip back and forth between two seemingly identical photos, unable to decide which one is best ;)

The Beauty Buffs - Animal Print: Leopard Print Nail Art

Nothing to Disclose

Hello, all! I'm finally able to get back into posting with the lovely lovely ladies of The Beauty Buffs! This week our theme is 'animal print' and I was pretty much out of ideas for what to do today. I recently did an animal inspired look for the 31 Day Challenge 2.0 so the prospect of doing another look was intimidating to me.

I was tempted to attempt something complicated for today, but I've had this weird desire lately to do a simple leopard print mani. I'm a huge fan of keeping animal print looks as close to real as possible and since it's fall here in the states (though in Southern California it's still pretending to be summer...hmph!), it felt right to use the classic leopard print shades - tan, brown, black.

31 Day Challenge 2.0, Day 6: Monochromatic - Asa no Ha Nail Art

Nothing to Disclose

Oh man, two posts in one day!? Next up in our Saturday posting spree is Day 6 of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge! Our theme for today was Monochromatic (meaning a mani using varying tones of the same color) and I ended up doing a fun variation of the Asa no Ha pattern for today's look.

I love how monochrome looks - I have a blue night stand in front of a blue wall in my bedroom! - so I was excited for the potential of today's mani. I remembered seeing an amazing mani from Emily of Very Emily a few days back and decided I needed to recreate it in some way. And so, my Asa no Ha monochrome nails were born!

Pattern Love - Black Base Floral

Hello, all! I've had a whirlwind week so far, but I got the urge to do some nail art late last night and decided to run with it. I've had this image by Lab Partners up on my computer screen for a few days because I just loved how the black background looked with the vibrant non-traditional floral colors. Does anyone else leave stuff open for days on their screen? It annoys the crap out of me to have a ton of tabs and windows open so leaving it up forces me to actually get it done so I can close the tab ;)

Pattern Love - Red Leaves

Hi, all! Sorry I've been a bit absent lately. I'm struggling a bit to balance my work life and my personal life. Seems like I'm always at work! I got home late last night but I made myself do some nail art just to keep in the habit of it ;)

I really wasn't sure what to do for this mani, I just knew I wanted to do SOMETHING. So, I turned to Pinterest and browsed my "Pattern Love" board and chose the first item there, a fabric from Spoonflower.

31 Day Nail Art Challenge - Day 16: Tribal Print

Yay! We're officially past the half way point with the 31 Day Challenge! I am so proud of us! I didn't actually know what today's theme was until about 5 hours ago, but I was so excited to see that it was tribal print. I really like the details that must go into a tribal print and I find it really relaxing to do these (I may be the only one in the world that feels that way haha). My ring finger nail broke today so I'm down to ultra shorties so bear with me!

There are so many different types of tribal print out there but I decided to go with a print central to my area of the world - Navajo print. The Navajo tribe are from the Southwest of the United States and are the largest native american tribe still in the US and I just love the colors and patterns from their pottery and weaving.  I tried to stick to colors that were more likely to actually be used in Navajo artwork instead of the bright and crazy tribal print I've been seeing a lot of (though I do love those so much as well!).

Southwest Print Pictorial

I was asked by a few people on the website Reddit to show how I created one of my last manicures but I didn't have much time to show the steps in nail polish...so I hand drew something really quick to share with them. And I figured I might as well share with you all here! It's a very crude and somewhat messy pictorial, but I wanted to share it here with you all in case you were wondering and wanted to try it yourself. Let me know what you think! :)
Happy Polishing! :)

Bright Southwest Inspired Print

Happy Friday, Everyone! If you're in the States, what are you all doing for Memorial Day?? Hopefully relaxing and having way too much fun :) I'm up visting my parents for the weekend and get to see my sister as well! Should be a good time :)

While I'm here, I'll be volunteering at an art festival that my Mom helps put together and I really wanted something fun and bright and just out there. I've really loved tribal/aztec/southwestern inspired patterns lately and I decided to go for something similar again since I so loved the last one I did.

I used 4 different bright colors for this look with a base of My Vampire is Buff because it's just perfect for nail art. I did repeat the same pattern on each nail, but I mixed up the way the colors were laid out and I think that adds some extra interest to these...not that this sort of print doesn't already have a lot going on ;)
