The Beauty Buffs - Royal Blue Trend

Hello, all! Happy happy hump day! ;) Today I have my second Beauty Buffs post to share with you all! I'm so loving being apart of this group of talented ladies and I can't wait to see what they've come up with for our second trend - Royal Blue!

Now, there was some discussion amongst the Beauty Buffs as to what exactly a royal blue was. If you do a search online, you'll find royal blues of the dark and light variety and it leaves some wiggle room for the definition of the color. When I was thinking of what I was going to do for today's look, my mind wandered to a simple gradient...which evolved into a new take on a gradient...which turned into a paint swatch?! Here is my cutout paint swatch gradient!
It's possible that a mani like this has been done before, but I really love how this came out and I feel like it's perfect for this trend. It shows just how many royal blues are available for us to rock. And if you can't decide, wear them all ;)
I started this look using tape. But that was a major epic fail of frustration so I switched and ended up free handing the stripes using my liner brush. Which was also majorly frustrating, but sightly less so. My lines aren't as crisp as I'd like, but I think they still look alright.
When I was brain storming for this look, I knew I had tons of royal blues to choose from. I mean, it's one of my favorite polish colors so naturally I'll have tons of them! Well that was a big fat nope! I think royal blue is one of those colors that when looking at the polish in the store, you know you have a color just like it at home so you never end up buying it.
When browsing my stash, I realized that I only had 2 blues that I deemed "royal" blue, one of which was slightly dried up :( Thankfully, though, I had acrylic paints! I ended up using OPI's OPI...Eurso Euro and 3 acrylic paints. I just wish that the difference in the first two blues showed a bit better in the photos. The bane of a nail bloggers life is capturing colors correctly!
Be sure to check out the other posts from the Beauty Buffs with the inlinkz below! What do you think of this look? How do you feel about royal blue?

Happy Polishing! :)
