Wondrously Polished X Lulu*s Tutorial

Hi all! I'm so excited to share that I will be doing some collaborative tutorials with the Lulus.com blog! They have some adorable clothing and I was especially inspired by one of their chevron print dresses.

Here's a little teaser of the look, but be sure to check out the blog post to read up on how to recreate this :)
Happy Polishing my dears! :)

The Hungry Asian: Li-lacquer Swatch and Art

Hiya! So I'm not feeling in tip top shape--my boyfriend managed to bring some sort of plague home with him from work and of course I have now caught it...I just didn't want him to be alone in his misery ;) Anyway, because of this, I just have something simple for you tonight. I used my newly adopted Li-lacquer made by The Hungry Asian and I'm so happy I did! This lilac creme jelly glitter is amazing and feels so much like spring and Easter to me. Loveliness in a bottle if you ask me! The application was great as is expected, and while I did have to do some fishing for glitter, it wasn't something a few coats can't handle.

Saran Wrap and Chevrons

I'm really excited to share this mani with you all tonight! I am really happy with how they turned out :) Yay!

I've been wanting to try the saran wrap method for awhile now and decided to give it a go tonight. For those who don't know, the saran wrap method is pretty simple method to create some cool texture to your nails. PackAPunchPolish has a great tutorial on it which can be found here. I believe she originally got the idea from Katy over at Blog Nailed It. Essentially though, using two colors (one painted on top of the other), you dab the wet polish with a crumpled up piece of saran wrap to create texture between the two polish colors. Pretty simple! I didn't actually have saran wrap and made due with cup up sandwich bags, but I think it had a similar affect. I ended up using a light shimmery pink as my base color, with a hot coral and purple mix as my top polish colors. I'm really happy with the way they came together.

Re-fresh Mint Chevrons

I've got something super quick and dirty for you all today. It's using one of my absolute favorite new colors, China Glaze's Re-fresh Mint. I think this is just the perfect robin's egg blue and perfect for spring. Only slightly obsessed ;) I wanted to show off this color so I went with a super simple white chevron on both my ring fingers as an accent. I'm loving the simplicity of this :)

My camera charger is MIA...

Do you know what my cell phone camera and a potato have in common? They both same the same quality photos!...and I'm only slightly exaggerating!

With my move a few months ago I somehow managed to misplace the battery charger for my Canon and I am so sad! I suppose I should be thankful that the two fully charged batteries that I did have lasted as long as they did, but I'm really not looking forward to buying a new charger (especially since the old one will turn up soon after). In the meantime, I'm going to search for a new camera app that will hopefully make better use of the alleged 8 megapixel camera that my phone has. The past few manis I did I've only taken photos with my phone, so bear with me on the quality and lack of pictures. I'm going to throw them all into this post and hopefully I'll have my camera up and running again soon!

For this first mani, I was lacking a bit of inspiration and ended up making my boyfriend sift through my polishes and find some colors he wanted me to use. After much deliberation, he ended up choosing Butter London's Disco Biscuit and OPI's Gold Shatter. I've used Disco Biscuit before but the Gold Shatter was new to me. My mom actually surprised me with it when I was visiting home over the holidays when she found out that in all my collection, I did not have one shatter polish! She's kind of great :)

China Glaze's I Herd That Chevrons with Purr-fect Plum

Happy New Year's Eve!! Well, it's still the 31st here in California so Happy New Year to anyone 9 hours ahead of me! ;)

To celebrate, I put together this sparkly fun mani to ring in the new year :) I busted out the striping tape and got started.
I used China Glaze's Purr-fect Plum (left) and I Herd That (right) for this mani and I really like how it turned out. I tried to make it look like the Chevron on my middle finger extends along the rest of the fingers.
