Mani Monday...Deb Shops Aztec Shirt

Eeek! I'm squeaking in this Mani Monday tutorial that I did for Deb Shops today! I know, I know, it's St. Paddy's day...but who doesn't love a little funky aztec any day of the week? ;)
I was inspired by this super cute (and flattering) aztec print shirt. At first I was a bit intimidated by the pattern because I wasn't sure how to break up the print into nail size. I contemplated doing more of the print on each nail, but in the end, I settled on this funky skittle mani and like how different it is.

Mani Monday - Deb Shops Aztec T-Shirt Inspired

Hello, all! Hope you're surviving your Mondays. I'm struggling a bit with a nasty sickness that won't go away. I just want to go home and sleep! But, at least I've got some fun nails to make up for it? ;)

This week's Deb Shops inspired mani is one of my favorites that I've done for them so far. As I was doing this look, I wasn't sure if I'd like the final outcome. It can be tough coming up with tutorials that will appeal to not only your own readers, but also the readers of the company you're working for. Sometimes it's tough to find a balance between your style and the style of the reader. I ultimately stress out way more than I should for each tutorial that I do, but in the end, I almost always like what I come up with. Whew, just a little insight into how my silly brain works during a tutorial for someone else ;)

Anyway! I was inspired by this fantastic studded Aztec print t-shirt, which I've been wearing tons lately. Be sure to head over to the Deb Shops blog, The Perfect Fit, for my step-by-step on this funky tribal look :)

The Digital Dozen does Red, Green & Gold - Day 4: Tribal-esque Print

So, I'll be honest, this challenge theme has gotten me a bit discouraged - I'm REALLY struggling with coming up with unique and different concepts for this Digital Dozen week. I wasn't very pleased with yesterday's mani and I was hoping to redeem myself with tonight's look, but once again was so stumped on what to do.

I found myself procrastinating on tumblr and came across Karina Manarin's tumblr and this image. I think by now we all know I have a major love for tribal and aztec prints and always enjoy painting them and this style of print is one that it can work well with any color scheme.

Autumn Aztec Tutorial for Deb Shops

I've got one more post to share with you all tonight! Here is a super simple aztec inspired look that I put together for Deb Shops! I was inspired by one of their super cute leggings and I just love how these turned out. Be sure to check out the tutorial for my easy how-to on this look :)
What do you think of this look? Do you like aztec print just as much as I do? I feel like the color palette is an excellent way to transition this summery print into the fall season.

Southwest Print in OPI Euro Centrale

Alright! So I mentioned before that I had done 2 manis with my Winstonia brushes prior to the ones I actually posted for my review...so I'm sharing them now! This mani was inspired by a shirt I saw...and can no longer remember where I found it! :( But the colors in the shirt inspired me to use some of the colors in the OPI Euro Centrale collection!

This was another mani that I honestly didn't love when I first finishes it. I took it off right after I took pictures and I had no intention of posting it. However, after not looking at them for almost 2 weeks, I changed my mind and I think I like them enough to share here.

Bright Southwest Inspired Print

Happy Friday, Everyone! If you're in the States, what are you all doing for Memorial Day?? Hopefully relaxing and having way too much fun :) I'm up visting my parents for the weekend and get to see my sister as well! Should be a good time :)

While I'm here, I'll be volunteering at an art festival that my Mom helps put together and I really wanted something fun and bright and just out there. I've really loved tribal/aztec/southwestern inspired patterns lately and I decided to go for something similar again since I so loved the last one I did.

I used 4 different bright colors for this look with a base of My Vampire is Buff because it's just perfect for nail art. I did repeat the same pattern on each nail, but I mixed up the way the colors were laid out and I think that adds some extra interest to these...not that this sort of print doesn't already have a lot going on ;)

Vibrant Aztec Nails

I think one of the best things that can occur while doing any nail art is liking what you're creating the entire way through. Sometimes, I will be indifferent to a look up until I put the top coat and other times I will love it until I put the top coat on. The worst is hating the look the entire way through and instead of changing course, you cross your fingers, hoping that maybe giving it some time and getting used to it will change your mind. But, as I said before, the best kind are the ones you love all the way through.

And yay! Tonight's mani was just that! I was in love with the color combo immediately and knew I had to create something worthy of them. I got it in my head that I was going to use OPI's My Vampire is Buff as the base, with Julep's Millie and Robin, and Zoya's Maura and Arizona in some type art. I landed on Aztec print because so many of their patterns have bright colors like this. It just felt fitting :)

I actually ended up trimming down one of my cheap nail art brushes to paint these and I'm really happy with the results my makeshift brush gave. I foresee much more nail art with it! :D

I apologize in advance for how many photos there are!
