Garden Party - Floral Nail Art

nothing to disclose

Hey all! Short and sweet post today - I had a pretty major break on my ring finger nail and it bummed me out quite a bit. I had plans to swatch this weekend but that wasn't able to happen so I did the next logical thing and painted a flower garden on my nails :D That makes everything better, right?

But seriously, how sad is that shortie ring finger!? And my cuticles!? UGH. SO rough. I apologize ha! I trimmed down the rest of my nails when my ring finger broke so I'm hoping that everything has a nice, strong fresh start.

I was actually feeling pretty bummed out yesterday. I hadn't created anything in awhile and it was really weighing on me mentally. I missed the act of painting and getting a creative release. I almost continued on my path of doing nothing despite feeling bad about it but decided to force myself to be creative instead. I put on some music (LOUDLY) and just painted. And I am so glad that I did.

So here's what I came up with. It's heavily inspired by the talented Anna Emilial (blog found here) and I love this manicure for the mental relief they managed to give me :)

Base polish is OPI's My Boyfriend Scales Walls and the rest was done with my Americana craft acrylic paint (and a tiny trimmed down paint brush!). And of course, mattification! :D I use OPI's Matte Top Coat.

I'd love to hear your thoughts! Do you ever get stuck in creative ruts? How do you get yourself out of them?

Tomorrow is the start of another Digital Dozen week so I'm off to get some work done for that! :D
