Bonita Colors Spring Collection Part 1 - Swatches & Review

Hello, all! Happy Saturday...or Sunday depending on your location ;) I've got swatches of the first half of the Bonita Spring collection to share with you all! This is an entirely shimmer collection and normally I'd be missing my cremes, but the shimmer is subtle enough that it can be used in nail art easily enough.

Ride the Waves
Ride the Waves is a bright azure blue, with that subtle shimmer I mentioned above. The formula on this one was on the thin side, but still very manageable and I only needed 2 coats for it to level itself out.

Blue Steel
I'm not sure why this one has blue in the name because it's definitely more of a teal shade. But a pretty teal shade! It's got the same subtle shimmer as the rest of the collection and this was a bit thicker in formula than Ride the Waves. I'd recommend wearing this one with a base coat because it will stain your nails a bit otherwise. Shown is 2 coats.

Team Pink
Team Pink is a rosy pink with a gold shimmer and had a bit of a "meh" formula. It was still manageable to work with, but it was much thinner and streakier than some of the other shades in the collection and I ended up needing 3-4 coats to get it to even out in texture and color. This one also had a wonkily cut brush that is still workable, but the few random extra long bristles was a bit irritating during application.

Royal Highness
Royal Highness is a vibrant amethyst shimmer that is quite lovely. If Zoya's Malia and Mira had a polish baby, it would be Royal Highness. The shimmer in this stood out a bit more than some of the other shades, but it was still quite subtle. The formula was really nice, though my brush was cut at a wonky angle that made application a pain.

Overall
So far, the shades in this collection are really nice. The shimmer is subtle but still fun and for the most part, the formula was good. The brushes in some of these were a bit wonky, which was a little bit annoying, but by no means a deal breaker for me. I've never used Bonita polishes before this, but I'd say you're getting a good product for the price. Definitely a fun spring collection.

You can purchase Bonita Salon polishes in Rite Aid stores or from their Website for $3.99/bottle. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date with their polishes (and to check out their awesome giveaways!).
