Wow! I can't believe how close to the end of this challenge we are! I've got a short post to share for today's theme of Inspired by the Supernatural. I really wasn't sure how to interpret this theme - just like with the flag theme, this feels like they ran out of ideas and just threw it into the mix at the end. But, since it's almost Halloween I figured I would keep with that theme and do something that can work for both!
I think we can all agree that witches fall under the realm of the "supernatural" so I ended up painting a simple silhouetted scene of a witch flying her broom. I almost feel like I'm cheating because these only took me about 10 minutes total when a majority of my designs go close to an hour. But I really like this look and even my wonky witch! She's even complete with a hooked nose and wart on her chinny-chin-chin!
This is one of those looks that I like much better in person than in photographs. I had originally wanted to do a gradient backdrop for these, but as you can see I had a big break on my ring finger and ended up nubbifying all my nails to match so the gradient just seemed too daunting on my baby nails. I decided to use Essie's Cashmere Bathrobe as the background since it's reminiscent of the twilight time of night and it's just a fabulous color in general. I then added in the black silhouettes with my trusty 18/0 Liner brush and some black acrylic paint. The moon was done with OPI's My Boyfriend Scales Walls (I need a new bottle! Eek!) and I used Seche Vite for my top coat.
What would you have done for this theme? Halloween seems like the perfect time to do this theme since there is so much inspiration floating around.
Happy Polishing :)
