The Digital Dozen does Recreation Week - Day 5: 2015 Ladies

nothing to disclose

Wowza! Can you believe that we've made it to the end of the week!? I'm so thrilled to finally be here but I might actually almost miss it now...just kidding ;) This whole week was a ton of work and lots of planning on my part, though I had a blast doing it so I'm really not complaining!

I have the final group of ladies who joined up this year, 2015. Yet another group of skilled nail artists to call our own.

Amanda from Lady Maid Nails
Ashley from Ashley is Polished Addicted
Amber from Nails Like Lace
Serene from Copy Cat Claws

Guest Post for The Dalai Lama's Nails - Stained Glass Nail Art

Hello, all! Today I've got a guest post to share with you over on The Dalai Lama's Nails! Hannah is celebrating 3 years of blogging all month long and she's asked a few ladies to guest post for her to help celebrate. I ended up recreating a fabulous design that Hannah did a year back...and then something extra special happened! Another one of my favorite bloggers (it may or may not be Adventures in Acetone ;)  ) also recreated the same design so it became an awesome collaborative post between all 3 of us! Head over the the Dalai Lama's Nails to read our full post!
Happy Polishing :)

NAGG - Day 2: Jewel Tones

Hello, all! I'm so glad it's Friday. I had a rough work week and fell behind on my Nail-Art-A-Go-Go posts almost immediately! How sad is that? Haha I hope this doesn't happen too often in the future, but sometimes you just can't force nail art. Luckily, Mireia is still on track!

Day two of NAGG is Jewel Tones (Nail-Art-A-Go-Go is SO long and there are hyphens in there and ugh, I'm lazy so it's acronym time!). I think this theme was part of why I couldn't get motivated after work Wednesday and Thursday. This was also the theme that was the nail in the coffin for me last time I tried this challenge as I could not come up with anything for it (yes, day 2 was my breaking point). While I love jewel tones individually, I don't really love them together - it feels a bit overwhelming to me - so I had no clue what to do.

31 Day Nail Art Challenge - Day 25: Inspired by Fashion

Oh my gosh! If there is anyone out there who reads my blog regularly, you may have noticed that I've been MIA for the past 2 weeks (I can't believe it's been that long!). Meghan and I decided to take a brief hiatus from the 31 Day Challenge since we both had busy weeks last week. While I've been doing tutorials for other blogs over the past 2 weeks, I haven't quite managed to post them here yet - hopefully I'll have those up by tomorrow night! I missed you all!

Anyway! We are both back tonight with our Fashion inspired nails! I am not exactly fashion savvy so I wasn't really sure where to even begin with this look but then friend of mine found this fabulous stained glass print dress from Alexander McQueen and I fell in love. I wish I had $1000 to drop on this dress!

Stained Glass Tutorial

In this tutorial, I will walk you through the steps to creating a stain glass style design. This isn't an overly complex design, but you will need a few items in order to make the process go by smoothly (and to reduce the possibility of you wanting to pull your hair out by the end of it!). That being said, it's possible there is a simpler method out there for completing this look...This is just the way I went about things :)

Stained Glass Inspired!

This design kept popping up in my head and for whatever reason I kept nudging it away to do something else. I finally gave into it and frankly, I don't know what took me so long to actually do it. This is probably one of my more intricate designs and I am really proud of how they turned out. This whole look probably took me around 2 hours to complete which I know is more than most people want to commit to doing their nails, but I am in love with it. I've been asked to do a tutorial for it and if there is any more interest I'll see if I can put something together.
