The Digital Dozen does Spring - Day 5: Cute Cacti

nothing to disclose

You know what's awesome!? Two kittens high fiving on the backs of unicorns. But you know what else is awesome!? Today marks the last of Digital Dozen Spring week! I'm pretty proud to have actually gotten through the week. It's been hard for me lately to get through it all with how busy I've been.

My final look this week is one I've been longing to do for awhile now...I even had the inspiration image as my phone background for a few weeks now! So while I find this pattern adorable and perfect for this time of year, cacti have a special place in my heart. I grew up visiting my great grand-parents home in Borrego Springs, a small desert town at the southern tip of California.

I remember riding my bike with my sister and cousins around the entire complex during Spring break (we spent many an Easter holiday there!) and admiring the slew of cacti in everyone's front yards...I probably didn't know what the work slew meant then, though ;) They're really quite beautiful and absolutely a Spring plant in my mind.

The pattern in question is one I came across on Pinterest (here) that is originally from a little esty shop (Emily Nelson Art) and is (of course!) no longer being sold. But it's adorable and I love it!

I used a base of OPI's My Boyfriend Scales Walls and a mixture of a few different acrylic paints for the cacti detailing. They were a lot of fun to paint and while not exactly perfect, I love them. I think they're my favorite of the week :)

Happy Polishing :)
