The Digital Dozen does Spring - Day 2: Fawn Field

nothing to disclose

Hey, everyone! Look at me, posting three days in a row! :D Thanks to Digital Dozen Spring week for giving me lots of inspiring things to dream up and paint!

It's getting late here in California so I'm going to keep this short and sweet...but today's Spring mani is inspired by a quintessential spring event that I would always look forward to growing up. We have gobs and gobs of deer near my parents house and while they're more like abnormally large rodents the majority of the year (ever wonder where the term Deer in Headlights comes from? Yeah I don't...they literally freeze and just STAND there for ages), in the spring time all the babies arrive!

The curious fawn. I had one of these in my yard the other day:

Yep, the stork shows up all in the fields and little adorable, fuzzy, fawns pop up EVERYWHERE! It's wonderful. I used to roll my windows down when I'd drive them and yell to the mama deer that their babies were cute...oh to be young and annoying!

I used this image as my reference for the fawn...and I think I sort of failed a bit at it's face :/ Maybe I've been staring at him too long, but I'm seeing a dog face more than a fawn face. I think I'm almost there with his face, but something is off. But oh well. I spent too much time on him to not share :)

I used a base of China Glaze's Grass Is Lime Greener and acrylic paints for the rest. It's a little more vibrant than I was going for but I still like it. While I'm not a huge fan of my fawn's face, I do like the mani as a whole.

Happy Polishing and let me know what you think!
