China Glaze - Cheers Holiday Collection: Swatches & Review

press sample

Hello, hello! It's Tuesday which is usually my least favorite day of the week...however, when Tuesday's mean new China Glaze swatches to look at, I think it makes the day a whole lot better! The new Cheers Holiday collection is out now and I have swatches of the entire set of polishes for you all to take a look at!

China Glaze is without a doubt one of my favorite brands and I'm always so impressed by how they manage to come up with so many cohesive and fun collections each season. I'm really enjoying this holiday collection as there seems to be a little bit of everything - shimmers, cremes, micro-glitters, crellies, glitter toppers...lots of pretty things to swoon over. Let's take a look!

Don't you just love how the whole collection looks together!? I can't get enough of it!

Coal Hands, Warm Heart is a blacken purple base with purple, black and silver holo glitters mixed in. This feels like a galaxy in a bottle! It's a great polish, easy to apply and shown is 3 coats.

Don't Get Elfed Up is a dark teal polish with vibrant teal shimmer flakies added in. This one is seriously stunning. I really love it. The formula on this was a little bit thin/watery - however, because it was so opaque, I still needed just 2 coats to reach beautiful, full opacity.

I Soiree I Didn't Do It is bright teal micro glitter in what seems to be a tinted base. I was worried I wouldn't be able to reach opacity with this one, but 3 thin coats managed to get the job done!

Mix and Mingle is a grape purple creme with a nice formula. It was a little bit thin for the first coat or so, but 3 coats got me to full opacity. This is very similar to the summer shade Creative Fantasy, but this is slightly lighter and not quite a dupe.

Brand Sparkin' New Year is a purple based glitter polish that is packed with small purple glitter. Like I Soiree I Didn't Do It, the tinted base helps this one reach opacity quickly which is great. Shown is 2 coats.

Better Not Pout is a metallic magenta polish with a slight shimmer. I love how rich the color is! The formula was like butter and shown is 2 easy coats.

Wine Down For What? is deep oxblood red creme. I love this one! There are just the two cremes in this collection and I definitely love this one best of the two. Shown is 2-3 coats.

Peppermint to Be is a ruby red creme with gorgeous pearlescent shimmer. I'll love using this in some Christmas manis in the season (maybe even a peppermint candy mani!?). Shown is 3 easy coats.

Ugly Sweater Party is a mostly pink glitter with a smattering of purple glitters all in a pink tinted base. This one is a bit too girly for my personal taste, but it could fun for a special occasion! Shown is 3 coats.

Son of a Nutcracker is a vivid neon orange-y pink pearlescent shimmer. I'm not quite sure how I feel about this one. It seems fun in concept but I don't quite like it on my hands...I do think it could be a fun toe nail polish! Shown is 3 easy coats.

Bring on the Bubbly is a gold glitter topper of small and micro hex glitters. I like that it's a single color glitter so it doesn't over power the whole mani. I've shown 1 coat over Wine Down For What...and I kind of love this color combo!

Break the Ice is a silver holographic shard glitter topper, perfect for all those holiday parties on the horizon! I don't always like shard glitters, especially when there are various colors or they're mixed with other glitters because it can be very busy and chaotic. However, because this is strictly silver shards, it helps keep the chaos of the shards appealing to eye. Shown is 1 coat over Mix and Mingle.

So there you have it! The Cheers Holiday collection! How do you like these shades? I think they make up a nice collection. You can purchase these in store at a Sally Beauty, Ulta, or JCP Salon near you (head here to see store locators!)
