The Digital Dozen does Floral - Day 1: William Morris Larkspur Inspired Print

Hello, all! Are you ready for the best week of the month to begin?? We're kicking off floral week over on The Digital Dozen and as I'm sure you can imagine, I'm quite excited about the prospect of an entire week of floral print...in fact, I may have chosen this month's theme ;) I'm beyond excited to see all the amazingness that is going to be created by these ladies this week!
For day one, I've been inspired by one of William Morris' textile prints. This particular one is inspired by the Larkspur flower and I just loved how elegant and charming the print is. I've adjusted the color palette slightly and modified it to work better on my small canvas (that would be my nails!), but hopefully I've done it justice.
I used a base of OPI's My Boyfriend Scales Walls and acrylic paints for the detailing. I actually wish I had gone with polish for this one just because I wasn't able to get the opacity on the leaves that I was hoping for. Regardless, I do like this design and it reminds me a little bit of some of the past floral looks I've done (like my favorite vintage look).
For anyone interested, I also took a quick video of this design. I don't know if you could call it a tutorial, but it at least shows you how I went about doing each nail :)

Whether it's real or imagined, I'm feeling pressure to create amazingness this week! I don't know I've done that with the looks I've painted for the week so far, but I'm going to live with them a bit and see if they grow on me! I know the other DD ladies are going to kick butt this week and I hope you'll check out the inlinkz below to see what they've created :)
Happy Polishing :)
