I have a fun nail polish subscription box to share with you all today called Color Me Monthly. This is a "new to me" brand so I was excited to try out a few of their polishes and see what they're all about.
CCM was started by sisters Meghann and Caitlin with the mission to create affordable, yet environmentally responsible (as in 5-free and animal cruelty free!) nail polish. Each month, the duo curates one polish for the box's subscribers at a very affordable $7/box (with shipping included). The colors are a surprise which I LOVE! It gives you a great chance to step out of your comfort zone with shades you might not normally pick for yourself. What I find really cool about their box is that you're actually able to purchase past polishes from their "vault" of colors (most subscription boxes I know of don't seem to offer that!), so if you ever miss a month or just really like one (or several) of their past polishes, you can snag one there.
I have swatches of the July, August, & September polishes to share so let's take a look!
South Pacific (July) is a greyed out ocean blue with a subtle iridescent flakie shimmer mixed in. I love a good blue and I like the fact that the shimmer in this doesn't overpower the shade. Also really impressed with the easy formula on this one! Shown is just 2 coats.
Mango Habanero (August) is a vibrant mango orange with iridescent shimmer. This one is on the sheer side but was still easy to work with. I have large ridges in my nails and because of this, sheer polishes tend to get patchy on my nail (which is normal for me and to be expected) so I've shown 3-4 thin coats here to even everything out. If you don't have ridges on your nails then this would not be a problem for you and you'd likely reach opacity in 2-3 coats.
Daily Grind (September) is a mocha creme with mauve undertones and has a great formula! This is my favorite of the bunch as I love a good brown toned polish...though I'm also gearing up for fall and this is absolutely fitting my polish moods right now :) Regardless, great shade, easy application, and shown is just 2 coats.

Finally, I decided to whip up a fun floral print that pairs all three of these shades to shown how you can utilize the polishes from past months into fun nail art. You know me, I love my florals, so I went with a sort of mod styled, bold floral and I'm really digging it! I used Daily Grind for the base and then painted on blobs of South Pacific. With Mango Habanero I added the gerber daisies and with white, black and chartreuse acrylic paint, I added in the final details. I just love this color palette!
Overall, I'm really impressed with these polishes. The quality is really great and the colors are fun and fitting for each month. I personally really like that each month only has one polish as it seems like Caitlin and Meghann are able to ensure the highest quality of each polish as well as curate the best shades.
One thing I thought was cool were these cute info cards for each polish. It has a fun description of the shade as well as a square to swatch the polish - how fun is that!?
You can purchase a subscription to Color Me Monthly for $7 a month (or at a cheaper rate if you purchase 6 months or a yearly subscription). They also offer a gift option so with the coming holiday seasons, you can get the ladies in your something they'll be able to enjoy for months to come.
