Renaissance Cosmetics - The Modern Vamp Collection: Swatches, Review & Discount Code

Press Sample

Hello, all! I've got swatches of the amazing new Modern Vamp collection from Renaissance Cosmetics to share today and wow are they stunning. I always enjoy Renaissance polishes, but I have to say, this collection (as well as the Anniversary collection) is one of my favorite sets of polishes to date.

As I'm sure you guessed, this collection is inspired by Meghan's favorite modern vampires from TV shows and movies. While I only know who a few of the inspiration vampires are, I am in awe of how well each polish reflects it's model. If you head to the Renaissance Instagram page you can see the inspiration photos along with their respective polishes.

Footprints in the Snow is a white polish with black, silver and red micro glitter and every once in awhile you catch a glimpse of the subtle red shimmer in the white base. It may be the glitters mixed in, but the base almost leans to a very light blue shade. I am absolutely in love with this one. The subtle speckled effect is to die for. This polish was inspired by Eli from the Danish Swedish Vampire movie, Let the Right One In. Shown is 2 easy coats with top coat.

Cursed is a dusty almost cornflower blue-grey with red micro glitter and some iridescent flakes. It also has a lovely pink/red shimmer with the tiniest bit of holo bits mixed in. The formula was flawless as I now expect from Renaissance, and shown is 2 easy coats with top coat. This one is inspired by Aiden from the vamp show, Being Human...which, by the way, I'm in the middle of watching - such a great show!!

Blood/Lust is a stunning cranberry red jelly with red and gold shimmer and micro glitter. There is so much depth to this one. At 2 coats it was stunning, but I added another and so much more dimension and color saturation happened with the 3rd coat that I was practically giddy with how pretty it was. This one is inspired by Willow from the Buffy the Vampire series and shown is 3 ridiculously easy coats and a top coat.

An Eternal Doll is a stunning nude creme with a subtle gold shimmer and red and gold micro glitter. This one is like the warm version of Footprints in the Snow and applies just as nicely, though it is on the thicker side. An Eternal Doll is inspired by the child vampire Claudia of Interview with a Vampire. Shown is 2 coats and top coat.

Out of the Darkness is a beautiful black packed with rainbow fleck shimmer, micro glitter and some holo dust. The mix of glitters gives this an almost gunmetal look to it and it's lovely. The formula was once again a breeze to work with and I used 3 thin coats (though I really didn't need that 3rd coat!). This one is inspired by Angel from the Buffy series.

Finally, we have Sex, Death and Rock 'n' Roll is a black based holo packed with gold shimmer that combined with the dark base, gives off the most unique and stunning combo ever. It almost looks blue/green in some lights. I can't even describe this polish. It's just beyond stunning and is one of my favorites of this collection. Once again, fantastic formula and I needed just 2 coats for this. This one is inspired by Spike of the Buffy series.

Overall, I am once again impressed with this brand. Great application of the polishes, well thought out and well executed polishes, and just plain pretty to look at. I'd have to say that my favorites are Footprints in the Snow and Sex, Death and Rock 'n' Roll.

You can purchase these polishes now from the Renaissance Cosmetics website (though An Eternal Doll and the listing for the full collection are currently sold out) for $9.50/bottle.
