Nail-Art-A-Go-Go - Day 1: Achromatic

Today is a 2 day post day! This month, one of my favorite nail ladies (Gnarly Gnails) put together a really creative and unique nail art challenge that I knew I had to partake in. I loved doing the 31 Day Challenge and have been looking forward to this new one for months. Too bad I didn't start doing nail art for it months ago ;) 

So here it is, the first post of the Nail-Art-A-Go-Go challenge! :D Myself and several other talented nail ladies will be partaking in this challenge...which is quite the challenge. It's one mani a day for the entire month of February! I'm positive I will fall behind, but I really hope to take part in each challenge. Day one is Achromatic, meaning "without color" so it's all about black, whites and greys. I decided to go with a super simple 'love' tree mani (after all, it is the love month!).

I'm so excited for tonight's post if only for the fact that I'm doing nail art again! It's been far too long since I've gotten to be creative and it felt so wonderful to sit down with all of my polishes and just paint. 

Today's mani was done as an entry into Nail Polish Canada's 2nd Annual Holiday Nail Art Challenge! The first theme was "snow" and we could interpret that in any way we wanted. Sadly (or perhaps to those who dislike the snow, luckily), I don't live in an area that gets snow...but I love it. I am particularly fond of how snow looks piled atop branches and while browsing for inspiration, I came across an image of a red cardinal perched on a pine branch that was covered in snow. Needless to say, I fell in love with the contrast of the red, green and white of the snow and knew I had to do it. So, here is my "snow" themed look inspired by that image :) 

Seven Deadly Sins - Day 2: Gluttony

This past week has been crazy busy for me and I haven't been able to do as much nail art as I'd like - hopefully I'll be able to make up for that this weekend! 

So, for today, I have something fun and different than my normal manis. I am progressing with the Seven Deadly Sins Challenge that I started last week with a bunch of fabulous nail art ladies. This week's theme is Gluttony and I chose to go with the following challenge phrase: 

Skip your diet and paint something that makes your stomach growl!

Well, nothing makes my stomach growl more than DONUTS. Yes, they are in fact my favorite and if they are around I have zero self control and can't say no to them. I am definitely a glutton when it comes to them so I figured it was fitting to paint them for today! 

February Nail Art Challenge!

Because I want to be even busier with nail art, I'm going to attempt this month's nail art challenge! This one gives you a few days to complete each theme and because I really like a majority of these themes, I'm going to try and keep up with this one! I'm excited to get started with it!

Okay, so I used to have this challenge listed in my tabs, but I completely failed at ever doing anything off of this challenge list. I've decided to go for it again, though instead of completing one mani a day, I'm probably going to take my good sweet time completing these. Anyway, here is the challenge list!

33 Ways to Stay Creative.

I recently came across this list and I love all of these! I just started carrying a Levenger notebook that my Mom got me for my graduation and I must say that it has made things easier. I'm trying to write down any random thought I tell myself I'll remember because I inevitably always forget it. I've also stated jotting down nail design ideas if something strikes me. It's minimizing a little bit of stress for me and that's all I can ask for! 

Numbers I'm currently doing? 2, 8, 9, 11 (I have been obsessively listening to Macklemore's new album lately...), 12 (I think I'm generally a pretty open person), 21, 25 (I'm making a solid attempt with this blog), 30, 32 (well, I try!). The rest, well those I've got to work on! But I figure I've got some time to do that and I really want to work towards achieving most of these things :)
