Hello, again! As promised, today I have the second half of the new Polished for Days, Summer Days 2.0 collection to share with you all! If you missed yesterday's post, you can check it out here!
This half of the collection has much cooler tones than what we saw yesterday which is refreshing for this time of year. This side of the collection also offers some holos and a fun glitter topper which we didn't get to see in Part 1. The entire Summer Days 2.0 collection will be available starting tomorrow, 6/20 from the Polished For Days shop so don't miss out if any of these babies strike your fancy!
Beach Baller is a teal based creme with a fair amount of blue, silver, copper, and gold glitters mixed in. I'm absolutely obsessed with this color combo. I mean, how beautiful is that?! The formula was really easy to work with, nice and smooth, self-leveling, and opaque in just 2 coats. This one reminds me of KBShimmer's Funky Cold Patina, but Beach Baller feels lighter and more summer-y to me somehow.
I did some simple mandalas over this and they remind me a bit of sand dollars! I love how they turned out!
Shark Bait is a fun glitter topper packed with white, blue and teal triangle glitters (like shark fins!) and white, blue and teal micro glitters. It's a super beachy and fun topper and had an easy application (not too thick, but still pretty densely packed with glitter). I used a makeup sponge and the dabbing technique to apply the second coat of this. Shown over China Glaze's Rain Dance the Night Away.
I did a simple gradient for my art with this one - I think it kind of looks like a beach!
Mermaid Tales is a blue, silver, and teal micro glitter in a clear base and is able to built to a suitable opacity in 2 regular coats and a dabbed on final coat. This is a simple but pretty and effective polish and is aptly named as it's so sparkly - definitely mermaid tail material ;)
Since this polish is named for our mythical mermaid friends that we never quite find, I decided to paint a kelp forest with some bubbles escaping from them...perhaps our mermaids in hiding? ;)
Sunblocked is a pastel orchid creme with the same subtle shimmer we saw in the cremes of Part 1. I really love this shade. So many orchid shades lately have been very vivid and bright, and I like this more subdued take on it very much. The formula was easy enough to work with, though it wasn't fully self-leveling so I needed 3 coats to reach opacity and smoothness.
The nail art for this evolved as I was painting it. I started with the thought of painting tiny suns with sunglasses on...and that evolved to just one sun per nail...and that evolved to this ha! It's sort of a mix of different types of yellow flowers I guess? What do you see?
Slippery When Wet is a dark blue holographic polish with a nice formula. It's on the thicker side but super opaque and I only needed 2 coats for the photos below! I like that this isn't a traditional summer shade, yet it still fits nicely in the collection.
I painted some simple white Black Eyed Susans over this one.
Beaches Be Trippin is a silver holographic polish with a scattering of silver flakies for a little extra shimmer. The formula is fantastic and the finish on this one is so striking! I like that the added flakies make a basic silver holo so much more exciting! Shown is 2 coats.
My final nail art is a simple and fun tribal look! I haven't done tribal in awhile so this was fun and relaxing to paint :)
On the whole, I enjoyed this side of the collection, though I think I might have to go with the first 6 as my faves (but that's just personal preference!). I especially love Beach Baller and Sunblocked!
