Hello, hello! So as you all may know by now, I'm getting married in just under 2 months! *gasp/faint/squeal* I am so incredibly excited for the big day but I've been so busy with work and wedding planning that I know it's left me neglecting my passion for nail art and blogging. So, I figured I'd try and combine the two in a series and share some tid bits of my planning.
One of the more fun projects I've done so far for the wedding was putting together my bridesmaid boxes! While I knew my girlfriends would all say yes, I wanted to put together boxes to officially ask them to be my bridesmaids. I took some inspo from things I saw in Pinterest, but in the end, I think I made it my own!
I didn't want to break the bank with these, but I still wanted them to be a fun and cute surprise for each of them. I headed to Michael's and found some cute 7x7 boxes, some orange twine, name tags, and some crinkle paper to cushion everything during shipping. I included a few items in each box:
- OPI Nail Polish (shame on me, I don't remember the name!)
- Travel Size Perfume
- ChapStick
- CHOCOLATE, DUH
- Paint swatches of the color palette for the wedding
- A fabric swatch in the shade I wanted them to find for their own dresses
- Instructions for the style of bridesmaid dress I wanted them to find
- Instructions on the who, what, where, when, why of the wedding
- And finally, I made each of them personalized cards that were at the top of each box asking them to be bridesmaids.
For my sister, Haley, my maid of honor - I kept it short and sweet. She really is my best friend in the whole world and I couldn't ask for a better person to be by my side, hold up my dress while I pee, and just all around making my day even more special. She's awesome.
My friend Erin and I always quote this classic Bridemaids line to each other when we're in need of a pick-me-up, a good laugh, or just because we want to remind each other that we're beautiful and loved.
Valerie and I have always bonded over snacks and drinks. From our tea party days as kindergartners, to cheeze-it comas in high school, to drunk adventures in college, we always connect over our love of stuffing our faces.
And for my dear friend, Kristie! We seem to always be on the same brainwave as each other. I swear, if her husband and my future husband knew how much we enable each other, they'd never let us talk again! She's my partner in crime in all things crafting and it's pretty great to have someone that loves and "gets" the same stuff as you.
To finish off the look, I added the box lids with some twine (we're having pops of orange as our accent color!), and then I hand wrote everyone's names with a chalkboard pen on the chalkboard tags.
And here they are in all their glory! I'm so happy with how they turned out and I was so incredibly excited to give these to my friends. I hope they loved them as much as I loved making them.
I'd love to hear what you all think! Did you do anything like this for your bridesmaid? Happy crafting!
