The Digital Dozen does Red, Green & Gold - Day 2: Galaxies!!

Today is day 2 of the Digital Dozen does Red, Green & Gold and I mentioned in my post yesterday that I really wanted to challenge myself to do something that wasn't "christmas-y"so...it's possible that you're about to see some of the weirdest/ugliest/most awesome (??) GALAXY nails ever!
But seriously, I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about these. On the one hand, I think that I love these because I'm really proud of myself for thinking outside the box and doing galaxy nails with colors I would never have chosen on my own (or that have ever been done before).
But on the other hand, I'm not sure if these are too abstract (or garish or just straight up ugly?! haha) to be called galaxies. But I suppose it's possible there is a galaxy/nebula/gaseous formation in our universe that looks exactly like this - though maybe without the gold stars ;) - so maybe it's just right! I just need to stop looking at them because I'm starting to just see the bad...this is what we call "stream of consciousness" blogging. I'm sorry. I can't help it.
Aside from the colors, these are your pretty standard galaxy nails. I started with a dark green base of Zoya's Envy followed by several sponged on coats of the red OPI, Lost on Lombard. I then randomly layered in Zoya's Giovanna and Maura (dark shimmery green and bright red, respectively) as well as did a few areas of China Glaze's Def Defying for the bright green. The gold stars are actually done with a random gold acrylic paint because I didn't like how the other golds in my collection looked against the background I created.
What do you think of these? Did I completely miss the mark on these or do you have some love for a really weird mani? ;)
Happy Polishing and be sure to check out all the other fabulous manis by my fellow Digital Dozen masterminds through the inlinkz below! :)
