Hello, again! Day 2 of DD week is upon us and we're continuing on our food group journey! Yesterday was veggies, and today, I've decided to paint some cute fruit! As fruits are one of my favorite food groups, I decided to paint some of my favorites to indulge in. I've also got a quick little tutorial of sorts for how I paint this so let's take a look!
As I mentioned yesterday, I wanted to paint something from each of the main food groups this week while also getting some fine detailing practice mixed in. I'm hoping to continue the theme of tiny print like this through the rest of the week so hopefully you're enjoying this style!
I started with a base of China Glaze's At Vase Value, one of my favorite soft teals! While the formula is pretty cruddy, it's worth dealing with the chalky-ness for that sweet sweet color!
I used acrylic paints for the fruit this time around, and as I mention in the video below, black acrylic paint in particular for the outlining details. I feel this is the easiest medium to work with and much smoother and controllable than polish...plus, it rarely smears with top coat which is invaluable!
As is becoming customary, I added a matte top coat to finish up this look (I apply a regular top coat first to avoid smearing from the matte top coat).
Check back tomorrow to see which food group I can pull together next and be sure to follow along with the other ladies via the inlinkz below!
Happy Polishing :)
