Nayll - Custom Polishes: Swatches & Review

Press Sample

Hello, all! I'm getting back into the swing of things (sorry I've been so incredibly MIA lately) and today I have swatches and a review of a new to me brand called Nayll! For those who don't know, Nayll is all about creating your very own custom nail polishes. While they do offer pre-designed collections, the majority of what they produce are polishes that you get to create yourself...which is so incredibly awesome!

These polishes were designed by my sister and I and we sat down together one night and had an absolute blast picking out the colors and glitters we thought would look best together. You also get the option to name each polish so we gave them names based on some of our favorite movies.

By the end of it we had convinced ourselves that we could start our own polish company and design collections together ;) I think that part alone was as much fun as wearing the polish once it got here! The custom polishes are star with two basic finishes - shimmers or jelly based glitter polishes. I personally prefer jelly/crellies with glitter so all 4 of the polishes I have to share are in that style.

It's A Wonderful Life was created with the coconut jelly base and we added in silver holographic micro hex glitter, teal share glitter and copper square glitters. Because this was so packed with glitters, it was on the thicker side, but still completely manageable to use. I think the combo of the shards with the squares made this formula what is was. Shown is 3 coats with top coat.

About Time used the plum jelly base along with black and silver holographic micro glitter and teal square glitter. The formula on this one was much easier to work with than It's A Wonderful Life, but this was mainly due to the fact that IaWL had much more large glitter than this one. I do with the glitter showed through the base on this one a bit more, but I still find it to be quite lovely. Shown is 3 easy coats.

Love, Actually started with the pale perfection jelly base and uses small bright pink holographic hex glitter, large orange hex glitter and large silver holographic hex glitter. I love how subtle this one is! The formula on it was really great, especially considering how much large glitter is in it. Shown is 3 coats.

Finally, A Room with a View was created with the Tulip Teal jelly base. We put copper square glitter and small orange and gold holo hex glitters. I do wish there was a less of the square glitters in this one (something I know I could have requested, but didn't consider when designing these polishes), but I like the color combo nonetheless. This base was opaque in just 2 coats.

Overall, I really love these polishes because they are exactly what we wanted! The formulas are all nice and this whole process was an absolute blast. Some things that would be great to see from Nayll in the future would be more glitter options and perhaps a way to denote how much of each glitter you'd like to include.

You can create and purchase your very own custom polishes at the Nayll website. Each polish starts at $8 and then depending on the glitter and shimmers that you choose to add, the price goes up (typically about $0.40/glitter type).
