The Digital Dozen does 2nd Anniversary Themes, Day 3 - Sapphires: Geometric Ruffian

Press Sample

Hello, all! Playing some major catch up today and posting my Day 3 of Digital Dozen week! If you think back all the way to Monday/Tuesday, you might recall that the group was doing manis inspired by all things 2's, September related and 2nd Anniversary related. Day 3 was 'Sapphires' (September's birthstone)...and I hated this prompt. With a passion.

This was probably the hardest Digital Dozen challenge theme ever for me. I wracked my brain for 4 days and couldn't come up with anything that I liked for the theme. It killed my mojo a bit for the rest of the themes but I couldn't move forward with the challenge until I got through the damn Sapphire day!

My problems were solved when I decided to use Shimmer Polish's Liana as my Sapphire base. I've never used this polish before and I was so in love with it when I put it on. It's a stunning blue, teal and silver glitter polish in a semi black base and it reached opacity in 3 coats.

Since the DD is all about nail art, I added a simple geometric style ruffian look over the polish. It's sort of gem stone inspired so I think it works. I like the simplicity of these a lot.

Sorry I'm so late with this challenge. I'm so behind on my blogging that I really need to buckle down and get things done this weekend. I'm currently in the middle of binge watching the final season of True Blood so I think it's going to be a productive weekend ;)

Be sure to check out the other DD ladies' manis via the inlinkz below!

Happy Polishing :)
