The Lacquer Legion - Garden

Nothing to Disclose

Happy Sunday, all! I'm back from my vacation (we went camping in Yosemite!) and I've still got one more awesome guest post to share with you in the next few days, but I figured I'd get back to sharing some original content from me as well :)

For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you may remember that two months ago I shared a teaser photo of a mani I had just done...but I completely failed at actually editing the photos and getting my act together to write the post. But I'm fixing that now!

I've also been following the ladies of the Lacquer Legion (they come up with a monthly theme that everyone can partake in and share) and have been itching to participate with them. When I saw that this month's theme was "Garden" I about died since I love my flower prints. I didn't have time to come up with anything new for the theme, but I figure that this still falls into that theme. I like the mix of the striped and polka dotted backgrounds and the bright colors are very "spring-y" to me.

One major problem with not writing your blog posts immediately after completely them is that you forget which polishes you used. I feel terrible, but I'm only sure of 2 of the 3 polishes used in this look. The green is China Glaze's Grass is Lime Greener and the pink is CG's Spring in My Step. The off-white/light yellow color is a complete mystery to me though!

I know I had just purchased the CG City Flourish collection and was hell bent on using a bunch of the polishes from that in nail art, but the yellow in that is a bit too bright to be the yellow used here. My best guess is that I used OPI's My Vampire is Buff or a Natural Buff acrylic paint. The black outlines are most definitely black acrylic paint.

Additionally, I often use an app called Rhonna Designs on my instagram and she has some really fantastic overlays that you can add. One of the more common ones in her app has a flower that looks similar to this and I think I inadvertently painted it when doing these.

While I'm going to miss my vacation time, I'm pretty happy to be back to my lovely polishes and doing some nail art. Hope you guys didn't miss me too much :p

Happy Polishing!
