The Glitter Box - March

Hello, All! Sorry I've been MIA. I got sick and it hit me hard. Never a fun day when you're too sick to even consider doing nail art. But today I've got a fun post to share with you all! I've swatched the latest collection from The Glitter Box! If you haven't heard of it, The Glitter Box is a monthly polish box that contains 3-4 custom indie nail polishes, each following a specific theme. Each month includes custom polishes from Fat Lacquers, The Juice Box Lacquer, and Kawaii Nail Lacquer with the occasional guest indie maker. This month is Michelle from Laquerlicious. Since St. Patrick's Day is this month, they chose the theme "Lucky Charms" and it's definitely a festive and fun collection.

For the first time in a review, I've also decided/tried to included nail art to go along with each polish! I was inspired by the name of each polish and it was actually pretty fun to come up with some quick and easy art.

Fat Lacquers - Pots of Gold & Rainbows
Pots of Gold & Rainbows is a grey holo with some gold flakies and is really pretty in a subtle way. This is the first Fat Lacquer polish I've tried and was pleased with the application. Shown is 3 thin coats (though I probably could have gotten away with 2) with a top coat.

And here is the nail art I did! While the polish is called PotS of Gold & RainbowS, hopefully you'll forgive me for only having one pot of gold and one rainbow ;)
The Juice Box Lacquer - Get Lucky
Get Lucky is another first for me from this indie maker, though I've followed this talented lady on Instagram for awhile now and have swooned over her stuff for awhile. Get Lucky is a celery green crelly with small to large square and circle glitters (in bright green, teal, blue, purple and reds). There was a fair amount of fishing to get the larger glitter out but it was worth it in the end because I just love these colors together. Shown is 2-3 coats with a top coat.

The first thing that came to mind from "Get Lucky" was the Daft Punk song, but I decided to go with a "lucky" charm of sorts and paint a horseshoe.
Laquerlicious - Shooting Stars
I always love the polishes that Michelle from Laquerlicious puts together. This is a bright baby blue crelly with neon blue, pink and green square and star glitters. These colors remind me of cotton candy and my youth. I think this is a fun polish to ring in spring and summer and while I know the young people in your life will love this, I still think it's a fun polish for all ages. Shown is 2-3 coats with top coat.
Since the polish is called Shooting Stars, I painted, well, a shooting star! Not too exciting but I think it's still fun and goes with the feel of the polish.
Kawaii Nail Lacquer - Get Clover It
And last but not least is Get Clover It from Kawaii Lacquers. This is a glitter topper PACKED full of round, square and clover glitter ranging in color from dark green, light green and iridescent shades. This was my first time trying this Indie brand and I really liked it! There was almost no fishing for those massive glitters which is always fantastic and it's just a really fun polish. This one definitely screams St. Paddy's day for me but it could still be fun year round. Shown is 1-2 coats over Zoya's Josie.
And for the final nail art, I revisited one of my Digital Dozen manis and tweaked it a bit. I painted silhouetted clovers! I love how chunky glitters like this look with a matte top coat, so I added that as well and really love how these turned out.
Overall, I think this is a really fun custom collection that fits the time of year nicely. I'm excited to see the other polishes that these talented ladies come up with in the future! You can pre-order this month's Glitter Box here for $40 and if you order by the March 8th, you're guaranteed delivery by St. Patrick's day :) If you love Instagram like I do, be sure to follow The Glitter Box there for future box info.

What do you think of this collection? Do you enjoy seeing nail art combined with the swatches?

Happy Polishing! :)
