Renaissance Custom Lacquer - Swatches & Review

Happy Saturday! Today I'm very excited to share with you all the very first set of polishes to come out of the newly founded indie polish line, Renaissance Custom Lacquer. Meghan of Will Paint Nails for Food and her sister Laura are the brains behind this company and I think they have done a fabulous job with their first endeavor into this area of the polish world. They've drawn inspiration from art, design, fashion and nature to create these polishes and I think it truly shows. This is a picture heavy post but I think it's worth it! ;)

I have 6 polishes to share - 4 are part of the first full collection, The Seasons, and the last 2 are stand alone colors.
The Seasons

Le Printemps (Spring) - A pale lime green creme with a gold shimmer. There are iridescent hex glitters mixed with blue and lavender glitter. This is so fresh and crisp and perfect for spring and one of my favs from this collection. Excellent formula and self-leveling. 3 coats.
L'Été (Summer) - A hot pink creme with holographic shimmer undertones. There are blue, copper, violet and silver glitters throughout with some fun square and hex shapes thrown in for some extra interest. Good formula and easy to apply. 2 coats.
L'Automne (Autumn) - A cool-toned brown creme with a fabulous holographic undertone. This a perfect combination of purple, maroon, gold, copper, and green hex glitters. The formula was great, but I'd say of the entire collection this color was toughest for me to apply. 3 coats.
L'Hiver (Winter) - A pale blue creme with gold shimmer undertones. This has tiny midnight blue, gold, white and random pink glitters that are fabulous. This was one of my favorites from this collection and once again, had an excellent, self-leveling formula. 2 coats.

The Stand-alones:

Nightshade - A deep royal blue with bold green/gold shimmer. Tons of copper, silver and teal glitters and a few larger teal squares. I used 3 coats for the photos, but I probably could have gotten away with another coat. This is more sheer in it's application which you can see near my tips and cuticle edge. Because this isn't a thick polish, build-able color is easily attainable.
Flirt - Probably my favorite out of all the polishes here, Flirt is a red-toned purple linear holo with vibrant gold shimmer and flecks of gold, purple and charcoal blue glitters mixed with some larger magenta hex glitter. This had a great formula and was easy to apply. 2 coats.
We happened to have a spot of sunlight when I was swatching this one so I managed to snag a shot of the full holo-ness of this polish. You should probably preemptively hold your jaw up before scrolling down because it's about to drop.

Overall, excellent first collection from this sister team. It would be expected that someone who constantly swatches indies would know a thing or two about what type of formula does and doesn't work. These polishes are not as packed with glitter like some other indies so they are easier to apply and aren't lumpy on your nail. Each polish was (or just about) self-leveling and not too thick.

You can purchase these starting tomorrow (12 pm EST) over at Renaissancecosmetics.com and be sure to sign up for their newsletter or like them on Facebook to stay up to date with the most current info on new and current polishes.

What do you think of these? Would you buy any of these? I'd say they're worth it ;)

Happy Polishing :)
