Woo! We've made it to Wednesday! Who doesn't love a Wednesday?...especially one with a Digital Dozen mani! If you followed along on the blog the past few days, you'll know that we're doing Food related manis this week and I'm painting my way through the 5 major food groups that make up a delicious diet!
Monday was Vegetables, Tuesday was Fruits, and today, is Proteins! Now, you might have to use your imagination just a tad to see what I've painted, but hopefully you still see it!
Proteins are super important for a healthy diet and fortunately, there are lots of great ways to get this essential macro...however, they don't really go that well together in a pattern ha! But, I gave it my best shot!
As I know there are different types of protein restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, omnivore, etc.), I decided to paint different types of protein sources rather than just MEAT. Which, I do love. But I resisted!
You'll find T-Bone steaks, eggs, fish, and that weird little green thing? That's supposed to be edamame which I'm huge fan of and which has a tremendous amount of protein! I liked the little pop of green in there as I think it pulls the pattern together nicely and adds a bit more interest to the palette.
I used a base of Zoya's Willa, my favorite black polish around, and used acrylic paints for the rest of the details. I started with a white base for each of these items so that the acrylic paint had a chance to stand out against the black, and then painted over that base with the various colors shown.
I'm sure you're not surprised to see the matte top coat on this one (sorry, the whole week is a mattified week!).
Overall, I know this one is kind of visually confusing at first, but on the whole, I think it's kind of cool once you take a second to break down what you're seeing.
Be sure to check out the other DD manis from Day 3 via the inlinkz below!
Happy Polishing :)
