Hello, all! It's time for another Digital Dozen week and this time we're tackling the best thing in the entire world...FOOD! YESSSSS.
Sometime last week, I had the strongest urge to paint...vegetables. Don't ask me why, I just felt like it needed to happen? And so I made it happen. And, when I remembered what this week's theme was, it felt like a good jumping off point for the rest of my manis as well. My concept at this point is to take on each of the major food groups this week all while working on my detailed line work along the way.
So, first up is this cute veggie look! I was inspired by these two patterns I came across and I sort of made them my own and combined some veggies from different patterns to come up with this final look.
I'm really pleased with them. I think they manage to convey what they are without getting too crazy with the detail, and I really like that they're tiny and cute :)
This is an all Zoya mani (aside from the white which is acrylic).
Base - Charlotte
Eggplant - Lael
Carrots - Arizona
Tomatoes - Maura
Bell Pepper - Pippa
Leaves/Stems - Josie
I also couldn't resist using a matte top coat over these (which, tomorrows mani also uses because I have no control), and I think it helps give it a more early vibe.
To paint these, I did the white outline of each veggie first. This allowed me to get a really fine white line bordering each vegetable. I initially started out by outlining them in black, but changed my mind as it seemed too harsh for these some how.
Anyway, I'd love to hear how you like these! This week is going to be all about tiny print and details...tomorrow's mani is fruit inspired so be sure to check back for that and head to the inlinkz below to see what the other ladies have done for the week!
Happy polishing :)
