Dermelect Bejeweled Collection for Fall/Winter - Swatches, Review & Nail Art...plus a contest opportunity!

Hello, all! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! I've got a review of the new Dermelect Bejeweled collection for Fall & Winter to share with you today! As the name might suggest, the Bejeweled collection is inspired by precious stones, particularly, garnet, a patinated finish, sapphire and quartz.

I've never tried this brand before but I'm really loving the formulas on these. While they are 3-Free and cruelty free, these polishes also boast nail strengthening properties which is always welcome to someone like me. If I can find a polish that strengthens while I wear it, I want it. Being able to remove that extra step of a separate nail strengthener makes a world of difference for me. Anyhow, let's take a look!
Lustrous
Inspired by cognac diamonds, this deep burnt orange-umber creme is packed full of copper shimmer and is one of the more unique polishes I've come across. I love polishes in this color family and am pleased to see that Dermelect went for such a different shade in this collection. This has a phenomenal formula and I could have easily gotten away with just one coat (though I've shown it with 2 for good measure). This just screams fall to me and I can't wait to have it in my repertoire for the season.
Gilded is a textured gold polish with undertones of green and copper. In the bottle, it looks almost like the polish will be a duo-chrome, but on the nail the apparent color shift doesn't show up. When I first painted this, my indoor lighting left a few things to be desired in polish. However, once I got it under the lights for my photos, I was pleasantly surprised by how awesome this polish looks. Something to keep in mind if you grab this one and it doesn't exactly wow you with indoor lighting. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
This is a dark brown creme inspired by smoky quartz stones. It is dark in the bottle and ever more so once it's on the nail. It almost looks black while on, but it does have a nice warm undertone. I liked this one. It's different and I appreciate that they went with a shade like this. The formula was great, only 2 coats and self-leveling.
Heirloom is a beautiful sapphire blue shimmer with a slight metallic finish. It has some lovely royal purple undertones that makes this a very unique and pretty shade. The formula on this was easy to work with, though it does leave brush strokes. I used 3 coats to get everything looking right. One thing to note, be sure to use a base coat with this as it will stain your nails otherwise (I'm a serial base coat skipper and learned this one the hard way!).
I also did a quick nail art look with these! For some reason, stripes always seem to strike me as a fall pattern and these colors all work so well together that I wound up doing this cutout striped look.
There is also a contest currently in progress on Instagram and Twitter in which you can create a fall inspired nail art look using any of the Bejeweled collection and pose with your favorite piece of jewelry. The winners will win all 4 Bejeweled shades, just be sure to @dermelect and tag your photo with #dermelect!
Overall, I'm very pleased with this collection. I think it's definitely a quintissential 'fall' collection and they might be hard colors to wear for spring and summer. However, if you're looking for a richly toned collection for the changing season, this is a lovely option. These are on the pricier side at $14-$16/bottle, but the formula and nail strengthening properties seems to make it a worth your while.

You can purchase this collection now from Dermelect's website as well as high end beauty retailers like Ulta. Follow Dermelect on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date with their latest promotions and collections!

Do you have a favorite from the collection? I'm really digging Gilded!

Happy Polishing! :)
