Hi all! Today I've got a fun post to share with you all :) Mireia of The Nail Art Show - who I was doing the NAGG challenge with and have been seriously neglecting - asked me if I'd want to do a mani swap with her...and naturally I said yes! While I love all of her designs, I had an idea of what I wanted to attempt right off the bat.
She always has really fun and unique prints featured in her nail art and I distinctly remembered one from a few months back where she used bright pinks and oranges in a flower print...imagine that, I'm drawn to a floral print ;)...So, that's what I've recreated today!
Mireia ended up recreating my monochrome feather look from a past Digital Dozen challenge, and she seriously did such an amazing job. I'm always so impressed by the fine line work she puts out for each mani. You can check out her blog post here.
For my look, I ended up using the same base polish as Mireia did, OPI's My Vampire is Buff. I considered using polishes for this, but figured the amount of detail required for the look might lend itself better to using acrylics. I started out with the blobs (yes, really, blobs) for the backgrounds of the pink and orange flowers, and added a few extra blobs of green for the leaves. With the burnt sienna shade, I outlined each of the petals and leaves then added in the accent shades to the petals and leaves. While Mireia didn't mattify her original look, I just loved how these look with that flat finish so that's why they differ in that.
So what do you think of our mani swap?? I had a lot of fun with this and Mireia is so easy to work along side. Definitely be sure to check out her blog to see more of her amazing work (and follow her on Instagram and Facebook!)
Happy Polishing! :)
